Thread: Vendor Death?

Does anyone know how long it takes for a vendor to vanish one it runs out of maintenance? Is it the same as a house or longer? Some seem to hang around empty for months on end or never go away.

Also, does anyone know if a CSR will remove them if they can verify that the owner no longer has a subscription?

To my knowledge, the only time something is removed is if the character that owns it is deleted. You may not have an active subscription, but the character could still be in storage. If that's the case, I'm not sure they'd remove anything in case the person comes back.

P.S. I can't remember if it's still an option, but if an item is left in the house it used to destroy automatically if you tried to redeed it. They may have changed that though.

i think if a vendor runs out of maitenance it becomes unusable until more money is put back in. i think it would be mean for someone to lose 300+ items just because they went on holiday or lost their internet connection.

That is very true. I am however talking about vendors that have been around for 6 months or more after the vendor owner has left the game. A house will go away after a month or so of no maint in it, why not vendors?

Wassup Merchants.

Had a quick question for all of you out there... because I was mainly a little unsure about the answer myself.

I am a Master Merchant, and I am currently considerign dropping the enter Merchant profession so that I can try out something new. If I have 10 vendors, what will happen to them? I had a cool idea to use them as decorating for my house, but I'm worried that they will go away after I have given away my Merchant profession...

So can anyone help me out? Thanks.

If you drop the skills, you won't be able to maintain the vendors or put any items for sale on them. Eventually all the items on the vendors will fall off, into the stockroom (max 30 days). The vendor will be empty. If the vendor is empty for 2 weeks, then it poofs, along with all the maintenance it has paid, items offered to it, and items in the stockroom.

So you can keep the vendors around for a while, but they'll be deleted before long.

Sometimes they don't delete themselves if a character is deleted and require a CSR to remove them.

"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals and you know it."

Elyssa was 1000% correct

Interesting indeed about all this Merchant information with vendors...

Thanks to all 3 of you for such hasty responses, and for answering my question.
