This forum looks like it gets lots of "new ability" ideas, but I thought I would post another one I thought of. I took a quick 5 minute search of the database, but didn't see anything like this. If I missed it though, sorry for wasting everybody's How about the ability for merchants to monitor their shops when they are not actually in their shops.

Imagine, you are on Lok hunting, and somebody sends a tell saying you are out of composite helmets. Rather than automatically ask them to use the "next button", or panicing and running back to your shop, you open your datapad and select "view vendor: unsliced armor by MAS". Then, you can browse the inventory as if you were in the shop. (Kind of like that Microsoft commercial.) Furthermore, maybe at higher levels, you can also start doing random maintanace from afar as well (such as change prices, remove items from active sale from the vendor (albeit not to your inventory), or move items from "did not sell" back to active selling space.)

Another shop monitoring idea would be something like a security camera. It would of course be togglable to prevent spamming, but at the lowest level it would tell you when a person entered or left your shop (so you can send a tell to them while hunting on Lok). Maybe a mid level would notify you when they opened a vendor (so you can say "I'm especially proud of my T21's"), and a high level would let you create a mini-map showing where they were traveling in your house.

Of note, this would also help the "I made my shop, I can drop merchant now" problem because these skills are dynamic, and you can't just place and forget them.

Sorry for the double thread (annoying forums). Ignore this one and read the other one.
