In many topics now in protest to this Merchant item limit changes, I've see a lot of references to the fact that exploited merchants are being removed.
Did I miss another Dev Thread that has been deleted? The only thing I recall reading was the Empty Vendors disappearing and Item Limits. Are they also removing vendors if you dropped the profession?

Yes, I will /sign anything you want on this one. Imagine if swordsman kept their skills and weapon certs after dropping to go fencer/tk
This was always a bug that should have been fixed LONG ago.

They aren't removing them. You simply will not be able to restock them unless you pick the skill points back up. That means you have 1 month plus 7 days max to dump the stock or regrind ( if you restock the night before patch). Since it only takes a week tops to regrind even merchant 4, no one's vendors are in danger of being deleted with all the goods still on them.

Under the system as it currently stands on Test Center "exploited"* vendors will disappear after a period of forty-five days. With the introduction of item limits those without Business III will not be able to sell items on their vendors. Existing items will remain, but after 30 days they will fall off into the stockroom and can not be relisted. After all items have fallen off the vendor it will be empty and after a two week period will be destroyed.
*I use the word exploited carefully here - It is taking advantage of an unintended gameplay mechanic but the term exploit is often misunderstood to mean doing something so heinously evil that your account should be banned, your house destroyed and your friends and family burnt at the stake.

Thanks for the one star. I just dropped Pistoleer but love Fan Shot so I think I'll keep that with Smuggler. What do you mean I cant? Ohh but someone dropping Merchant can keep their vendors? Sounds fair. Ok 1 star this too.

Ok, then this vendor limitation make even less sense.
If Merchants are now finally able to be what they were supposed to be, the sales channel for crafters, how the heck can a merchant do that with these kinds of restrictions?
This logic is mind boggling.

If SOE was smart, the wise business decision would be to nerf the Non-merchant vendors and keep everything else as is. Just think. Every armorsmith/WEaponssmith/smuggler/etc will have to go out and buy a new account if they want to be master merchant. And its WORTH it to do w/o restrictions. With restrictions, who cares, merchants will be like CH's.

I've anticipated this fix and have slowlymoved all of my stuff to ONE vendor and took up Business 3. My one vendor is an NPC vendor, not the big greenie vendor. Will it still be considered "illegal?"
I posed this question to this board a month ago and no one knew. Now that merchant changes are on TC, is there a definitive answer yet?

I am glad this "exploit" is finally being fixed. I have never had a vendor that my skills could not support, because I never wanted to be caught in the position that so many people are in atm. Good thing I was prepared for this, and I almost have Master Merchant now...
