The 3 top issues (taken from he sticky post) were solved in one patch:

We should be very happy that SOE has finally listen to what the merchant community have asked for and finally fixed our 3 most important issues. Isn't it great!
Especially fixing the exploit issue was well done. And now it will be important to master merchant and not just dabble. Well done my fellow merchant friends active on this forum. You all rock!
Who could believe that SOE could be this creative when they fix the exploit. Or could we...
I don't think we can demand getting more from SOE with JTL and Combat revamp in front of. The less important issues like being able to sell multiple items with one operation and stuff like consignment sales can sure wait another year or so. And stocking vendors is the true joys of being a merchant. Especially relisting those items which have run out of time limits is so fun. Show you which items you have not sold and you can once again feel the enjoyment of stocking vendors again.
Oh I just realize that the vendor enhancements in patch 10 will actuallly solve the issue with restocking timed out items. lol, I almost forgot that. With those lower limits we don't have to fell for the temptation to stock vendors once a week or so and instead have to do it every day. Those guys and girls in the SOE dev team are really sharp. Three isues solved with one blow.
And not only that now we can finally get rid of all those over-stocked vendors with thousands of items. It is so hard to browse the list even with the excellent interface that we have. I really think that next item button should be deleted. There should be no vendor with more items than can fit on one page anyway (heck that was the fourth issue solved with this change it just get better and better).
Another benefit is that people will get an enhanced shopping experience. I really think people should explor the galaxy more. Going from one vendor to another really increase my gaming experinece. I also think you should get a badge for every 100 vendor you visit. That should give you some extra FS XP and help you unlock the jedi slot (Oops sorry if I have revealed any secrets SOE).
See you again after next merchant revamp 2005. I need to log on now and relist 250 items (something I will not have to do after patch thanks again SOE)

Of course, you realize, that this post is far too intelligent for the Developers to get.
The rest of us got it but well, swish, right over their heads.
Sarcasm usually does that to the dull witted.

Hehe glad that people realize it was sarcasm. Was a bit afraid that someone would take me serious.
However the Sword of Sarcasm was not only pointed at the devs but also against some of the players as well. I have been very afraid (and voiced that un several discussions) that the request for removing the vendors for people who had dropped merchant would cause something like this. The cure is worse than the illness. Don't ask for a "nerf" before we get our other demands that would enhance gameplay fixed first. Now devs walk away after fixing one of our top issues and think that is enough to satisfy us.
I don't think that master merchant should have a significant higher limit than a 0-0-0-4 merchant. Don't artificially make master merchant more attractive by nerfing the "dabblers". I think the profession need to be made more attractive by adding features like consignment sales, even more vendors selling vendor space to crafters (i.e being able to put someone on admin) should be features you get at higher level of the merchant profession. I really would like merchants to become a profession you play to sell/buy as a true merchant and not just a tool for crafters to sell stuff. I am pretty sure that 99% of the merchants are also elite crafters (and I am pretty sure that 99% of the loot vendors are people who have dropped merchant).
I can live with having 0-0-0-4 (or 3-0-0-4) but don't force me to spend more skillpoints than that to be able to run my business.
I don't think you should be able to drop vendors and keep them (however you can always argue about what the skill really is, the abiity to keep vendors or to place them but let not go into that discussion again).
I also think that merchant should have no pre-req skills. That would also make it more attractive to non-crafters, not to mention doctors/cm which also need to spend 15 SP to get novice artisan.
And about the argument that some merchant say about finding a master merchant to sell their stuff. Well, been there done that and never found any who was interested (and I am on of the top-5 ws on my server).

You see the problem with posts like this is.. the devs will probably jump on this, and in the next interview they'll have another excuse to reply (when asked about the negative response from players) something along the lines of:
"That's completely not the feedback we're received from the bulk of our community. The bulk of our community has been waiting for this and, though not necessarily upset, frustrated that they haven't been able to jump into the cockpit of a starfighter and go into space."
And
"Yeah, all the guys who are happy with everything are playing the game. They aren't spending their time sending you guys letters or posting on the forums."
Shame on me.. the devs'd never say something like that if the players are unhappy right?

lol hope thay are more clever than that. But I am not sure.
Maybe I will see TH post in my thread and say that"great idea about the vendor badge, I will talk to the desv about this"
There are a lot of stupid players as well. We might probably see someone post in the "How do I get FS XP threads" that you need to visit vendors to get FS XP lol.
