heya,
just wondering, have the devs given any update to you about the vanishing vendors and lack of emails? vendors are still vanishing daily (many casual gamers STILL don't know/understand the 'active vendor' rules), and with CSR's not being able to do anything, this is killing the last few of us who aren't going after jedi at all.
my vanished vendor was a vendor which buys bone/meat/hide. i could deal with it not being on the map with no items for sale. but when i use it every other day... buying offers, removing items, and it STILL gets flagged as unused and vanishes without an email... something is outright wrong with this 'new system'.
i'm gonna hope that they're looking into it, because this lack of warning is just absurd. csr's ignoring tickets for days doesn't help either.

If you have vendor that you never have anything up for sale it will get deleted with 14 days. (I believe it is still operating at 14 days even though the posts I've seen say its 28)
I would suggest you put something up for sale even just something stilly that no one will buy to prevent the vendor from getting removed.
As to bugs that are deleting vendors. No I don't have any update on that and frankly the best thing that we can do is to put in CS tickets and bug reports and post the details here. That will get their attention faster than me just saying its a problem.

this was a 6 month old vendor, which is why i think i did not get any email on it, but i had items in the stockroom with over 24 days remaining when i last checked it. to the best of my knowledge, an 'empty' vendor is one with no items in the stockroom as well as nothing for sale. (this term 'empty', from when i asked a CSR about removing another persons vendor which had been empty for months) by rights, i should have had the 24 days before my vendor was actually empty, and the 'empty' vendor rule engaged. if the 'no use'timer overrides the stockroom timer, this is something that should have been stated. (perhaps even change the stockroom items timers to match).
sadly, anyone who offered me items also had no idea the vendor was about to vanish. and now i have to deal with them as well.
no merchant with the correct skills, maintenance, or a single item anywhere on the vendor should have it deleted.
i bugged it and ticketed it with one of my accounts. i won't 'bog down the system' by doing it on the other account, until it happens there too.
i hold no hope in actually getting it back, but a response other than 'wait until the server resets' is what i'll hold out for.

Actually I was under the impression that the stockroom didn't count as being "full" but I could be wrong.

heya,
so here's my update...
5 days after starting my ticket, and 3 emails from 3 different csr's (one said 'wait for a server reset', one said 'i can't find a vendor by that name', and finally a 'it was deleted on the 20th, too late to restore') my ticket was proptly closed without me being able to reply. the last email stated that it was deleted due to no use, and that use constituted either me adding a sale, or a customer purchasing an item. and of course, it is now too late to do anything, have a nice day.
well this is great. i was a little hypothetical in what i've stated before, as this particular vendor did indeed have items for sale at the time, as well as items in the stockroom, and items being held as offers. items which had longer timers than whatever 'no use' rule was put into effect (which of course, there's no ingame mention of, in the holocron or customer service doc). in the 5 days it took them to find it in the logs... i'm not surprised it's too late to get it back.
i still would like to know why i was not emailed or informed about this vendor vanishing... but think it's just another waste of csr tickets. well since i don't feel much like crafting... maybe i will.
nice to see the 'poaching fix' screwing the people with merchant since day 1 of retail. i had the skill, the items, the creds...
obviously the 'no-use' timer does override everything else on the vendor, from stockroom timer, to auction timer. as an fyi.
