Thread: Vendors not Showing on Overlay-map ISSUE

Well all 8 of my PUB-10 vendors won't show up on the overlay-map. I had ONE vendor created PRE-PUB-10 and that one is showing correctly on the overlay-map. I have posted several tickets and /bug reports, but the CSR's keep giving me the standard info about vendors and close my tickets. I have tried the following:

1. The are items for sale and I got the "Vendor is operating normally" message;

2. There is enough maintenance to last 2 months;

3. I have removed and replaced a vendor;

4. I even placed a new house and put vendors in there too, but they didn't show up;

5. I have moved my profiles folder out the SWG-folder and run a full scan, but that didn't solve the problem either;

Please help me!!! This ruins my business, only the customers that actually know there are other vendors than the one called "Loot"
can find the others.

If you are experiencing the same problems please post here.

In fact, Vendor does not appear after the reboot until a delay.I dont know why. it seemsmy vendors appear when i come in my shop.

For instance, i login yesterday and have a look on the planetary map. It was few minutes after le reboot. There was less than 10 vendors on the map and mine wasn't there (i registered them just before the reboot). Some time later, i came to my shop and i look again at the planetary map and my vendors was on ...

I have not registered them to the planetary map, but they should always show up on the Overlay-map without having to register them to the planetarymap right? Thanks for the info on registering, was planning on doing that as soon as I got master merchant

The vendor should NOT appear on the overlay map until you have registered it (with the Advertising 3 box). Once you register it will appear. You can then drop advertising if you want and the vendor will stay registered (as long as you always have inventory on your vendor)

Not really.

Most likely the only thing that are showing up on your overlay map are WPs in your datapad.

The vendors themselves will not show up on the overlay map until you register them.

Yeah, I frequently have this issue too. I'm a Master Merchant but the vendor disappears from the map every other day. I notice it'll re-appear if someone or myselfvisits the vendor.

Hopefully on some bug fix list.

Vendors do not appear on the overhead map or in the map listings under "Vendor" unless you register them. Advertising 3. They also do not "load in" to the game and appear on the map until you or someone else enters your shop. Vendors work like harvesters. They are not rendered in the world until someone is in range. This is working as intended. If your shop is new or at aremote location and you don't get much traffic, you can log in and visit your vendors so they will load in and get listed on the map.

Although before one of the recent patches the vendors would show up on the overhead map before they were loaded up. Now someone has to go into the shop and force them load.

Here is a question- If I log on early and load them so they show up on the overhead map, and then say 4 hours goes by before anyone else walks in my shop, with the game purge them from memory and therefor remove them from the overhead map?

Once loaded into the world (by you or any other visitor to your shop) registered vendors will stay on the map until the next server reset.

They start appearing on the Ctrl+V map first by loading in time. If no one visits your shop all day long, your vendor will not appear on the map or in the global map vendor list.

Thanks for the info.

But too bad that's the intended nature of "registering" the vendor. I thought registering would keep it available on the map (listed under Vendors) - but you need someone to visit it for that to happen after each server restart? Good news is that it is on the map half the time so that means someone visited me... bad news is it's not listed the other half

I dislike the solution "log in and visit your vendors" - that's nice if you got a dozen toons and can leave one sitting on your vendor, but if you like to explore the galaxy and sometimes spend a few days (or even a week) two planets away then you can see that solution is a pain in the butt.

I'm very very mad about this issue. How can someone will visit your vendor if they are not shown in map...

This is completely against "Advertising" issue. This is an issue devs need to fix as soon as possible..

I'm reporting any names that breaks the Naming Policy, Roleplay seriousity and copyright laws, you can too...

Actually, the way it works now *IS* the fix.

Before this, you had to visit each of your vendors and manually re-enable the listing after EVERY server reset.

It's still not perfect, but much better than before.

I'm afraid to get it changed to the way it "should" work will require a fundamental change to the way the game world functions.
