I'm hoping they modify it so it doesn't spam a ton, especially for the merchant, it just gets really irritting for me. =(

Mail for sales is good. It lets me know what's going on and I can export the data into other programs to track my sales.
Mail for sales that I just ended intentionally becomes very annoying very quickly.
I have mixed feelings about mail for sales that have expired.
On one hand it's good to know that I need to go restock but on the other hand if enough stuff is falling into the stockroom, the "you've got mail" sound can drive you insane until it finishes.

I agree the Auction Unsuccessful email is extremely annoying. When all of my 400 powerup auctions end at the same time, I just logout until the system is done spamming me.

Do ya' think they could code it so we'd get 1 email per day with a "summary of cancelled auctions", rather than the 500 emails?
I don't think anyone really cares about what specific item has expired -- but I agree that it is nice to get some sort of notification when stuff does start falling off. I'd love to just get 1 mail at midnight every night saying "today, 756 auctions were cancelled on vendor X".
That would be almost as cool as the "relist all" button.

Oh, there must be some balance in between! /cry
Seriously, I was actually coming here tonight to post about this anyway. We really need either the option to decide which types of mails we want, or for them to be at least consolidated. I logged out in frustration last night (something that almost never happens - it's not easy to frustrate me) when I had over 500 emails come in over an hour. I get the point - I needed to go restock, LOL. But one email saying 500 items expired would have been preferable to 500 individual emails telling me the same thing. Or the ability for me to turn them off totally.
I pretty much agree with Elyssa as to what I personally would prefer :
1) Mail for sales makes me feel good (all warm and fuzzy) so I want that
2) Mail for sales ended by me (useless - thank you, yes I know I removed the item from sale .01 seconds ago, LOL)
3) Auction Unsuccessful (after 30 days) - either let us turn them off, or consolidate them into a single email message ("In the last hour, 93 items expired in your vendor 'My Vendor' at the attached waypoint. Check with your clerk or use a remote vendor terminal to restock!"
4) Expired items - I'd probably keep that on, since it means an item has been destroyed (not the 30-day unlist, but the actual destruction of items from the stockroom)
5) Finally, I really, REALLY want them to add notification of vendor maintainance. If it goes below 100%, I want an email - if they can email me when I just clicked "cancel sale" to let me know that I...well, canceled the sale, I can get one when my vendor is losing condition and my items are at risk.
I really would like to see some changes happen here - it's honestly one of the most irritating things about being a merchant (right next to the actual vendor interface).

Offers! Must have email on OFFERS!!!
Lol. Good point.
I've been playing musical merchants for so long I'd forgotten all about the need for that. ![]()
I'd love to get out of the habit of logging them both in every 48 hours though...

I never remember to check them. I get email from my guild "Please accept the offers so I can put up something on the bazaar"

The noise thing isn't really a big problem (be nice like if there was a summary either way) but what upsets me is I can't filter it out or put it in a seperate chat, so it ends up just spamming all my chat windows.
I would assume it's under system message, but it's not, it's universal.
This is REALLY annoying especially when things are going on in your chat window and you end up missing it cause of the massive spams.
