I have a small Player City Shop on Naritus, and i am struggling to pick up business. I just revamped all my vendors. I have put up Posts in the Trade forums, and put my Store coords on all my harvestors. I don't want to AFK shout, or even shout in Coronet because i think it's cheesy
What i am asking is what other forms of Advertisement are available? I would like to build a bigger customer base because i am starting to get really really poor

I had posted this before on Tailoring thread {so I like copy/paste!}
infospammail!
make up a 'flyer' to email and forward out (this is my fav, I have one for my business and one for each everyday question I here, talk about time saver)
make up 'calling cards' (simple items listing your name, shop waypoint) and hand out (or sell on bazaar)
tell folks, if you are chatting with new people mention what you do and offer, then casually fwd your WP
use /auc channel, you don't have to spam to be effective, every time you pass a planet (porting wise) let them know of your wares and where to go
*OH and you may want to 'tag' your clothing/items as well,
something for your name or business name in title for people to reconize as it being crafted by you

what I did way back when I first started is this...
listed my full allotment of 25 items on the bazaar (at a very reasonable price)....AND fully stocked my vendors.
as items were purchased from the bazaar, I'd send a brief email to that buyer thanking them....giving a brief description of what I had listed on my vendors & attached a waypoint. I also mentioned that if they were in search of anything to let me know & I'd see if I could help.
I never once spammed...never made "calling cards" for the bazaar and I did this before the auction channel & merchant droids were even thought of.
Very effective way to personally advertise your goods.
I started this within a month or 2 of the beginning of the game & I still have people remembering my very first shop.

Be careful of doing this. I know it seems silly but I don't want other people's advertisements in my house soif Iam buying paintings or furniture Ipurposely look for items that have the standard titles.
For me this isn't a big deal when buying weapons, armor or deeds because those items do not display titles when you use them.

That's exacly why I stopped adding "by Elyssa" to all the furniture I made.
During the changeover period I noticed that the un-customized stuff would sell about 3 times faster than the named items until those were the only items left.

At that point the named things were grudgingly bought up.
When I did my grand re-organization, I just destroyed the remaining named items.

Now I only add descriptors to furniture that has two or three things with identical names: Couch (orange), Couch (curved), Couch (contemporary).
Oh, and I still add my name to swoops but like you said, it doesn't display so I don't feel guilty about it.
Besides, people will think of me when a Nightsister blows their bike up and they have to pull out their spare!
