Oky i have been a merchant now for over a year and there are a few things that bug the heck outta me.

1, im a role player and like to name my vendors. To me it adds somthing to the store. Not Power-ups here, armorer there or what ever. But like always its the Role players that get shafted. When im on global someone scans a list and see's Nog well w t f does he sell? and generally passes by and hits the POWER-UPs vendor listed right below me. You go visit mr power-ups and they got 5 crates for 10k each.. mine are 1k and i have 500 crates..

as global is its basicaly useless, and withafk spamers and trade boards.its even more pointless, just take some time one day and hit everyvendor on a planet listed on global and you will see exactly what im talking about .

soo this is my solution

Global listing,

Not vendor name, but store name. When you list on global you get to put in a store name, say 30 character limit. and then Now this is a novel idea,, an advertisement. You click on the global store name and a pop up box apears, right at the top there is a number, which says how many items are on the vendor, Not in storage mind you, and packs count as 1. this would keep storage vendors from fooling you into thinking they have stock when there is a pack with 50 items, and there 5 packs soo you head out thinking wow power-ups 254 items maybe they have what i need, lets check it out, and you get there and there are 4 crates on the thing and 5 back packs and now your pissed cuase you just spent 30 mins heading thinking it was possible they had stock cuase you were fooled. had you seen 9 items it would have surely been a skip.

the second part of the listing is an advertisement. You get a short little paragraph. not sure on character count but lets say 300? This would give you the abitlity to list some sales you have going, maybe some stats on some guns, or just something comical to help you drum up bussiness, The creative guy might get more bussiness vs the lister, but who knows.. this is something i would love to see though..

The second part of global is like to see a galactic adverstising, How would this work you ask? great question.. well you konw those Tv's at the starports up near the ceiling? well you click on them and then pick what channel you would like and then you could see all the people on this list. It would be more expensive than global, and i think it should be something you would have to reset every day or 2 or maybe a week, this would have to be tweaked of coarse. But to me runing a galactic add campain shouldnt be perminetn like global add. and cost should be decent, say like 10k a day to represent the extra addvertising, and possibly an aditional cost per vendor in the20m radious It would have a similar item count as global but it would list the count from all the vendors from a given global location. say a 20m radiious of the galacitc add vendor and the add campain could reflect say the mall you run..

Come on down to theValley mall, we have everything you could need, weapons, food, armor, and even resources... soo stop on by the best prices in the galaxie.. and you know that there are say 5k items at that mall soo it could be worth stoping by.

I hate going to storage vendors when im looking for resources or other items. Great Idea!

My vendors all have names... and then what they sell.

i.e. Llun Vesk- Starship and Parts Vendor

I made a suggestion for Galatic Advertising awhile ago but it go poo-pooed as normal. I think people are worried that a certain few i.e. the rich players will try an monopolise the whole thing and send the smaller merchants to the Sarlacc pit as they cant afford to compete and players may stop looking at the plantary map (If it still exists).

Would be nice if you could veiw off planet vendors on a galatic map, obviously excluding the vendors for the planet you are on.

Seems to me that the only problem is how to sort the current vendors. No matter how you try and sort it so the stocked vendors get prioty, someone will find a way around the system.

Current advertising def needs a good thump on the head.

heh, well right now there is no bonus to add, and you dont need to be rich.. just have an extra computer and spam all day in c-net making tons of lag and anoying people : ( and to get around the afk filter all you need to do is jiggle your mouse every 10-15 mins..cause most afk spamers are off playing there jedi.. i havent done a pole but i know many many are you learn how have the jedi alts and who dont.. Right now global just sucks.. im acually droping it to use the skill points for FS crafting.. i have noticed ZERO change in my bussiness.. only thing i wont be able to make my vendors talk but soo what they spam anyway.. I own a cantina and leave um off cuase they are anyoying.. Now if they only talked when you clicked on a talk command that would be very nice.. but till then mine are mutes

I think the problem is with the overhead map. The area around Coronet is populated with a lot vendors andthe map is so cluttered that you can't read what the vendors are.

Thereshould be a change to allow you to filter what is displayed on it so you can target the right vendors to visit. (I do tend to ignore the the vendors with a name like Nog on the map because I am usually shopping for a specific item, and Nog can be one of many things and most likely a waste of my time).

As for advertising, there are alreadybarker droids... and I do visit the shop if it's my interest.
