Thread: Vendor stuck in someone's pack fix
In beta to get around the broken admin/vendor privs we would give the vendor object to the owner of the house and they would drop it where you want it, then you take over. After trying this in release I found that they disabled his ability to drop or otherwise move the object in his pack, but not limit me being able to give it to him. End result my vendor stuck in his pack, he cant destroy, etc.
I tough my friend Business III, he then placed his own vendor which let him put my vendor up for sale. Might be able to just put it for sale on the bazaar as well. I then bought it, and destroyed it.
Cul
This was a pain for us as well.
You still do this... it works fine for droid and terminals, you can hand the item to the owner, they drop it.
However, NPCs are bugged... you hand an NPC to them, they get it... but they are stuck with it, they can't destroy it, drop it, trade it back, or even move it to a pack in their inventory.
It still counts as a vendor for you too, so you can't hire more than your limit.
I found a work-around... I can give you specifics, and tell you my assumptions on how you could make it work if you can't fulfill this specific case.
First, the owner must be a merchant and have a vendor in the building. They simply put the vendor up for sell, then withdraw it and retrieve it. At this point, they can drop it, destroy it, whatever.
Now, if the owner isn't a merchant, or if the owner doesn't have a vendor in THIS building? I THINK it would probably work in any vendor they own, anywhere....
I also think it MIGHT work if they put it up for sale in the bazaar then withdraw and retrieve it.
Last possibility, it MIGHT work to use a different vendor, offer the item to the vendor, have the owner of that vendor accept the sale and put the item up for sale, and have the owner of the building it needs to be dropped in buy the item off of that vendor.
Easy, right? lol
What a pain. Not nearly as bad as upgrading a vendor with over 100 items on it, or even worse, upgrading a building with 7 vendors each having over 100 items, AND the house itself being full of items... that... sucked!
Hmmmm... now for my question... how do you transfer ownership? I didn't realize you could (wished it severely though!) .. I've spent a fair amount of cash transferring ownership by re-deeding and handing over the deed.......
So how do you transfer ownership? I guess I should know this...
But I don't.. heh. Hopefully I do soon.
