Thread: Vendor Bugs and Poor Programing
You should definitely /bug the fact that things in your vendor are counting towards your house items. Mine does not do this. Yes, do not remove a vendor with items in it. 'You' will see the items from then on in the region screen, but I do not believe the customer can see those items, at least they couldnt when it happened to me. A sad thing is the vendor is the one thing Ive seen so far that doesnt confirm destruction requests. The fact that status is right next to remove vendor on the menu has caused lots of people to kill vendors.
So we all know the vendors that merchants get are buggy as heck and as gracefull as a hippo doing ballet. So let's list out the problems and hope they get fixed as this will be the LIFEBLOOD of the economy.
1) Items in the Vendor should NOT count against the number of items you can have in a house. I don't know if I'm just bugged or if this is the way it's intended but it is getting agravating. I am at the pointnow that for every item I want to put inmy Vendor I've gotto Pick-up and Destroy anditem in my house. I am going through furniture like mad, all I've got left at this point is a darn couch.
2) I should be able to put thingsdirectly into the stockroom via drag and drop with out having to put it up for sale first and then withdrawing the sale.
3) Multi-select, aka shift-click. You can multi-select things in email, why not on the bazaar or in your vendor. I've got 150 items in my vendor and want to move, I have to take each one of the item off the market individually, then I have to retrieve each one of the items from the stock-room individually, this can take a VERY VERY long time.
4) Or I could just destroy the vendor and hire a new vendor... oh wait, no I can't because that system is bugged. I hear if you do this, your items WILL show up in the new vendor but you will NOT be able to access them nor will customers be able to buy them. This bug should be fixed!
5) Maintence Fees - As stated in other posts, WAY TO HIGH. The econemy is poop right now. I am building MSE Data Droids and can't get 1500 credits for them.
6) Macros should work in the description field. I want to be able to type out a detailed description for each item I sell but I don't want to have to type it out each and everytime. At this rate playing a good merchant will mainly involve TYPING the same thing over and over again. If I wanted to do that, I would stay at work. How cool would it be to have a "sig" macro that you could push and it would type into the description field your personal little ad? How cool? Way cool.
7) I should be able to move the vendor around with stuff in it. I placed my vendor at the begining of my career, now it's got to stay there or I have to remove 150 items from the inventory, move the vendor, then re-input every item, every price and every description.... BY HAND. Let me push and rotate it without having to empty it.
8) How about a "Display Item" check box that would alow us to put an item on the vendor and still be able to use it as part of our in store display? I can't tell you how many times I've gone to another mercants house and he has a beautiful display of armor next to the vendor, but he's run out of them IN the vendor.
9) Custimisable Catagories- If I am not selling armor powerups, I don't want to see that catagory in my vendor. It's like a sales person saying, "Would you like to buy a car? Yes? Oh, too bad we don't sell those." I've got a section to sell Armor Powerups on my vendor, an item I have never seen for sale ANYWHERE, but have NO catagory titled "Droids" an Item I want to sell. They have to go and look in the "Misc" catagory under "Item" for crying out loud! Let us customise the catagories of our vendors. Let us put things where WE want to put them. If I want to sell a 20 pack of droid batteries for a lower price than I sell them individually let me put the pack under the right catagory instead of "Containers". People looking for droid batteries aren't looking under Containers.
10) Finally, let me see what someone is offering my vendor without having to go to the vendor. If I am on Naboo and someone offers my vendor on Tatooine something, I don't want to have to spend 2000 credits just to go take a look at it and see if I want to buy it. Let me see what they are offering, the quality and the price and let me either accept it or decline it with out having to travel there. Are we expected to believe that my NPC Vendor character is capable of calling me on the phone and saying, "Hey, Joe Blow just offered to sell us something." but she can't tell me what it is, how good it is and get my go ahead to buy it or decline it? I mean I have her on the phone right? Can't I just say "Debbie, that looks like a good deal, go ahead and buy it and put it in the stock room."
So, these are my top ten things that are wrong with the Vendors... just the vendors mind you, I'm not even talking about the entire "Merchant" profession, which is also broke. Almost as broke as my droid engineer profession.
What do you folks think about this list? Have anything to add? Detract? Agree with?
Shout out!
You are right, chat copy and paste will allow me to do a small portion of what I want to do with discriptions and it will work with the windows clip board. But I have a very long discription for some of my items and it's not always feasable or desirable to put all of the like items up for sale at the same time. So getting the macros to beable to type in the description box would be REAL nice.
As far as the vendors eating what's in them if you destroy them... this I know, from sad sad experience. I wonder if a binary load lifer would be able to move a vendor with it's items intact with out having to destroy it.
After creating a ticket for unretrievable items yesterday i checked the ticket this evening, and THEY HAVE JUST DELETED THE TICKET!!!!
The austrich strategy, if you cant solve the problem, hide in a sand hole! I just cant believe it! It took me half an hour do detail all the unretrievable items, as asked by them on forums. DISGUST!
