Thread: premium auctions and hiring 3 do not work, any others?
as far as i know these are the 2 skills broken for the merchant class. are there any others we need to bring to the devs attention? personally i think 2 is a lot already.
I haven't been using premiums due to the cost, but I tested one. I know it did not highlight to me, but I thought (mistakenly probably) that it was like your name, everyone else can see it but you. I know if you clicked on the item and asked for details the paragraph you filled out as a description, does work. I was more or less thinking no one was using them because 100cr is way to much for what you get.
I listed my vendor on the map, his name is Bob, I was unaware at the time, that what got listed was my vendors name and not my shops. So now when you are on Wanderhome and look up vendors you see things like so and so's weapons and so and so furniture and Bob. What a laugh, they need to clear that up somehow with real instructions on how things work. In addition I was expecting a flashing neon sign in the middle of the map saying "Shop at Bob's", boy was I wrong, roflmao. I don't hardly ever use the ctrl-v map, I bet most don't, and when I did use it, I had no idea that it had those functions to the right of the screen, I bet most don't know that either. I don't know how much the vendor maitenance rate went up, I am bugged so Bobs old rate is 1cr and his new higher rate is 1cr. Can someone let me know about what the new rate is? I might very well not use the map depending on cost. Thanx for your time.
Advertising I works sometimes, you have to keep resetting it. (but be careful because the evil remove vendor command is too close to the disable ad bark selection) It is an amazingly effective thing when it is working. My vendors bark ads at people as they pass by the shop (even if they haven't entered the shop) people come back by to see what the heck is going on.
Advertising II is broken. The customize dialog never comes up. I really want this one fixed becaues the canned ones don't help my General store as much as a customimzed message would.
Advertising III has to be reset all the time, but it does put your store on the global map. Unfortunately I don't think anyone ever thinks to look there for it.
Advertising IV will be useful when they actually charge for Ad III but right now they aren't. That will all be fixed one day and all our vendors will be destoryed because we are "exploiting" the maintence fees by not keeping 10,000 in them just incase they fix the "glitch"
Premium auctions still don't work for me.
Premium auctions would also be more useful if we could sell things on the bazaar at 3001+. Right now the bazaar limitation also limits the merchant's bonuses with the bazaar.
Hello, The devs have had all this said to them. The /bug feature in game has been worn out. I have sent to them the top 5 issues so far, and we will see what they do. Next week I will do it all over again.
Trust me, devs are aware of the issues. There are just a lot of them, and fixes take time.

About half way in the post, I have what was sent to the devs this week.
Thanks
I guess I'd just like a dev to say to us, in their own words, "These fixes are especially hard, and here's why..."
Or even "Yes, we know Merchant is 90% nonfunctional and would kind of suck even if it was functional".
Because normally with a lot of problems, I can at least say, "Well, Q and Holo said X or Y about this issue back in Beta" but Merchant is one of those issues that they didn't even say much about in *Beta3*, let alone now.
I know they're getting bug reports and such, but I don't feel confident that those reports have trickled up meaningfully. Could you try to coax Holo or Q or whomever the dev is who did the actual ground-level design work on Merchant to pop his head up in this forum and say a few words? I'd be happy with, "Yes, we know about each of these issues, we're sorry it's this way, and we're afraid that we have to admit that some of these problems are going to be a real bear to fix, for various reasons." That would soothe me a lot, as long as it also included a commitment to eventually not only fix the skills that we have on paper but a willingness to fix the profession by adding value to it.
