Thread: No Tax Rollover

Don't know if this is a bug or something the dev team overlooked in terms of tax fluxuations. In our player city currently the mayor changed the sales tax from 5% to 2%. During the 5% time, vendors items that were placed on vendors reflected the 5% sales tax. Ex: an item placed on the vendor for $1K is shown as $1050K ($50 reflecting the 5% sales tax). Now that the city's sales tax has been reduced to 2% from 5%, i thought the sales price on the vendors would change, but they still reflect the 5% price, not the new 2% which on a $1K item should be $1020, not $1050. Basically: the prices on vendors do not change reflecting the new sales tax. Item prices are being locked in at whatever the sales tax was at the time of placing the item. The sales tax change does not rollover to existing items. Like i said, i have no idea of this is a bug or an unexpected instance devs did not think of in terms of tax changes. Is there a fix in the works? Cause this will essentially force crafters to basically re-drop items on the vendors each tax change just to get the corrected prices to display.

No, but it wouldn't be all that surprising. The tax rate is probably set per item at the time of the sale.

Is there going to be some sort of fix for this? I'm sure this is a small overlooked instance since, for the reason i stated before, will cause much friction during tax changes. All items would need to be pulled just to get a corrected price display. Doesn't seem fare to endure all that.

I'll run some tests on TC and make a post about it for the devs. We'll see if they intended for it to work this way. I fear the answer is no, but we can't fix it right now. We'll see.
