To start off, I apologize if someone has already posted this idea. I rarely read the merchant board, and rarely post on them. Here's my idea:
I was wondering if merchants would be able to pay a very high price to be able to advertise their stores on the loading screen. Personally, I would love to see store ads on the loading screens. The merchant would pay a very high fee, and submit short paragraph describing his store, which would then appear on the loading screen. I don't know if this would be possible, but it would a great feature, and would also lessen the spamming at starports

Doubt its possible. Those are basically just static graphics that are loaded while you wait.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Unfortunately, I don't think it'd be possible. Heck, look how long it took them to fix (I assume they finally did) the Sedonian loading screen that kept showing a Jawa picture
Also, you're right, there'd still be a bunch of spamming in the starport.

I love the idea, but with so many merchants on all the different galaxies even if this was possible....it'd take forever for our's to show.

I know this isn't currently possible because those screens are on the client side not the server side. They take forever to get changes made to them because of that (and because they are such a low priority for the dev team)
Obviously something could be written that would do that but it would have the potential of slowing down the load of a lot of data the client is already doing to get the user in the game.
