Too many threads for me to read all so I thought I would post instead.
If I put 50 items in a bag and then load it only the vendor is is classed as 1 item or 50 towards the limit?

cant see how they could do that as armoursmiths all sell armour packs which would allow them 10 suits per vendor?

I just tested this on Test Center.
The bags counted as one item.
At 108 items on the vendor, I put two bags on with three items in each bag. There was no problem.
If you try to go over the vendor limit you get the message: This vendor is at maximum capacity and cannot accept any more items for sale.
What I find surprising is that at 110 items, they are still bumping us over to a second page for the last 10 items. Since they set the vendor item number so low, I had expected that they changed the vendor, so all items showed on one page. But that is not the case.

Having bags count as 1 makes the argument that they want to reduce the database void though, as a business 3 person can have 5000 items and a master merchant 33000. Sure it is more of a hassle, but storage vendors will continue to flourish.
Which makes me think they'll change it.. which won't be fun for me as an armorsmith.

It will lower the load on the vendor sales database (items that are on vendors).
