While re-writing what I wanted to say about the upcoming change about fifty times, I finally came up with a simple, easy explination on why the change is bad.

With the change, the focus in the game will shift and be on Selling.

The game is suppose to be about exploring and finding those neat items, making stuff, and it's about collecting badges and rare loot. Now it will be about selling your stuff. With the change, inventory room will become a valuable commedity, because there is a limit to how much you can have.

Hunters and Fighters who don't have vendors will be using the bazaar more, flooding it with all the stuff they find. They arn't going to hold onto that neat piece of art in their bank when they need to make room for a good deal they got on a case of brandy. The burden of item storage will fall on everyone.

Crafters that are successful, they may run into problems with keeping their vendor stocked. (As a Master tailor I sell over 100 items a day, if there is a drop in the number of crafters and thus tailors, the demand for my goods will increase.) However this is less likely to happen.

What's more likely is that Crafters are going to be waiting and hoping that people will use up their valuable inventory space to buy their items. It will be easy as a tailor to stock six vendors with 110 items on each. The tailor having spent most of their skills on Master Tailor and Master Merchant, must now wait around for people to buy their stuff, and create room on their vendor. Then the Tailor can once again do what they love to do, and that's make clothes. So instead of spending time making clothes, they are going to be forced into spending their time, focused on selling their clothes, just so they can make more. (So they can make money).

Crafter do not want to run missions to make money, they want to CRAFT stuff, that will sell well for money. Some crafter (myself), don't even care about making money, I care just about making clothes, about crafting clothes. Now I'll be forced to spend my time on selling clothes.

New Players, are going to have problems, because people are not going to want their 'stuff', because if they are going to use up their value inventory space they will want the very best stuff. They will have problems getting seen on the bazaars because they will be flooded as well.

People can and will find ways around the limit, but your hurting the causal player who doesn't have the time to learn all the 'cheats'.

Below is some numbers. Taking into account the change, and the simple cheat of 50 items in a backpack that people will be forced to switch to

.

Numbers:

Current New/Max
Inventory Room (Self) 60 60
+ backpack 49 49
+ full clothes/armor 1111

Bank 50 50

House (1 large house) 250250
Bazaar20 20 * 50 = 100

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
General Total for all players: 440 520

Hunters/Fighters (No merchant skill)
Vendor Unlimited 520

----------------------------------------------

Crafters
Master Merchant Unlimited 660 * 50 = 33000 + 520 = 33,520
----------------------------------------------

============================================================================================

*I was wrong about the factorys. So removed that*

64 Maxed Fighters per Maxed Crafter.

We will survive this, but crafters will not have to craft anything new for a long time. Which ruins the game for many people.

Anneke (Princess of Sanctuary, Naboo, Naritus).

*I think they do these sort of changes just to increase traffic on the forums.*

How exactly do you store 50 things in a backpack on the bazaar without it selling?

And I don't see how bazaars are considered storage, they are a place to sell things. And at that the max you can sell a day on the bazaar is 25 items, not 20.

You left droid item storage. You can have 5 droids each with 10item storage per for a total of 50 items.

The numbers arn't perfect but you guys get the idea.

You could have more the one house, or use factorys for more inventory room, but still there is going to be alot less inventory room in general.

The Fighters/Hunters will have the bigger issue. And now the crafters are going to have to seriously work on selling their goods to get fighters to take their goods as opposed to someone else, with their inventorys room being so limited and valuable.

I'm surprised people really haven't responded to this thread.

I mean, the issue I'm bringing up is not about vendor cap. (With backpacks, vendor cap won't mean a thing).

The problem is that SOE will be destroying the economy and how the game is currently played.

I will no longer get to spend my time being a crafter. I'm going to be forced to become a merchant to be a seller of goods.

I can go to a merchant to sell my stuff, but they have limited room for selling. The Hunters and Fighters have limit room for storing goods, so it will be harder to sell stuff to people.

If you don't believe this will happen, look at your inventory, your house, your bank. If you have EVER had to put up a second house or even a bigger house because you ran out of room in your first one, you know what I am talking about. If you ever hit the cap in your house and had to decide and balance what you have in there, you know what I'm talking about.

This is going to severly hurt Tailors the most. Your not going to buy that pretty dress, because that takes up a space you may need for loot, or a spare weapon, etc...

The crafter's entire game play will be changed.
