Are vendors still poofing with stuff on them but only in the stockroom?

A guildmate of mine (longtime Master Droidsmith and Master Merchant) took a break from the game. His account wasn't cancelled. He left several vendors stocked full of droids and accessories, came back to restock, and as of two weeks ago he still had dozens of things spread across three or four vendors. I know for sure, because I was looking to see if he had a droid I wanted and I wound up browsing all his vendors. The items had about a week before they'd go to the stockroom.

He came back on this weekend and his vendors--and everything on them--were gone. As far as I know, they were current on maintenance as well.
