I noticed that in the new political profession system, now each skill cost 0, I think that is will be good, now we will see more cities, but we are forgeting something, merchants.

Merchants are a important part of the cities, they impact much of how frecuently visited become a city. But became a merchant is hard, because that means you need sacrifice part of your skills (around 1/4) to adversite and have an efficient sale of your products. If you became merchant you will sacrifice part of your skills that could be used to have another craft profession.

If we set that every Merchant skill costs 0 or 1 skill points, this will improve a lot the markets of the SWG. If merchant skills points costs 0 or 1 point, doesn't mean all will have merchant profession because is free or almost free, like is happening with the politician profesion, because to become a merchant you need some artisan skills and no many people will spent skill points of artisan to get a merchant for 0 or 1 skill point per skill box.

This will only benefit crafters, thats the idea, because with this change, will benefit the whole cities that was the idea of making politician skills cots 0 points.

Erh, i guess the reason why Politician's got 0 skillpoints use, was because you couldn't really make any money of being a Politician, Merchants can. I hav'nt invested that many SP in Merchant, just 4xx1, to get merchant droid and overhead view and an extra vendor, it's all good.

I don't understand how this will only help crafters. Anyone can get master merchant and then use them for storage.

If you became merchant you will sacrifice part of your skills that could be used to have another craft profession. I personally don't see it as a "sacrifice". It's a choice, you either spend the skill points for it, or you don't. Nobody is forcing you to.

You make it sound like there are no crafters out there.

This will only benefit crafters, thats the idea, because with this change, will benefit the whole cities that was the idea of making politician skills cots 0 points. What will only benefit crafters? Having merchant skills? Obviously, there's some benefit to the skills; if you spend the points on them, you can have them too.

Politician is a very slow, amazingly non-interactive profession. In other words, it's... Really boring and there's nothing you can do with it unless you're a mayor. Plus it's one that affects towns, not just what you do. Dropping the requirements for it were probably to make it more reasonable for people to pick it up.

Merchant is an ongoing, more interactive, potentially profit-making profession that has tangible results (new kinds of vendors, advertising).
