I am not sure but perhaps there is a way to solve everyones problems with the new vendor search functionality that is coming, or their problem of why it can't come quicker... lol

how about a droid module that alllows you to have a droid that can search for specific items in say, 10-20 shops on a particular planet... I would choose the item i want to find based on a set of search-like criteria and then the droid would go out and bring me back instances of actual items on actual vendors that are out there, WITH pricing, but no more than 20 at a time.

this would do 2 things: it would solve the problem of gross undercutting of merchant vs. merchant to an extent, because it would leave SOME measure of uncertainty in they pricing system, yet it would ALSO allow the consumer to check different sources for product and decide where to buy without too much hassle

what say you?

I'd say... somewhat interesting idea. Though I don't think they could ever make the search options of what the droid should look for as open ended as anyone would like, and the programming for this kind of thing would be pretty intense, I'd imagine.

I like the idea... that I can send my li'l R2 unit out to shop for me. Very neat. I just don't think it's something that could be well-implemented.

Though I have been known to be wrong... from time to time.
