Today I had over 500 items come down within an hour. As I carry a large and diversified stock, it can get a bit confusing as far as items and prices go.
This time, I tried restocking while going through the category list (you know, the one on the left of the item screen) and it made the job much, much easier.
By relisting items via category, it reduces the clutter as well as helps with that annoying "jump to the middle of the list" bug that occurs from time to time. I could also easily relist items that were all the same price all at once, instead of on different screens. Lastly, it made it easier for me to think without all the clutter and let me readily examine my sales to see where I need price adjustments.
Don't forget to use subcatagories when available. A lot is listed under the Miscellaneous tab, and can clutter back up again quickly.

When restocking, you try to think of ANYTHING but what you are doing

hehe...you know in the Stockroom tab, you can actually select more than one item at a time just to highlight it, doesn't actually sell them all with one click
...but it does help...for me, everything that's priced the same, I highlight, then I go through selling it all until the highlighted stuff is gone and move onto the next group...the SHIFT key is your friend

My method is as follows: once a month I delist according to price group. Everything that is for 5000, for example, gets pulled to stockroom. This is very quick if you sort by price. The key is to start at the LAST page and work your way forward, so that when you remove items, new items don't repopulate the page - you want to make sure you don't miss a 5000 in there.
After that you have two choices - relist from stockroom, or pull to inventory and relist from there. I've done both, and I can say that pulling to inventory is actually quicker. But, if you've got multiple vendors, for example, or multiple locations, and you want all your items to go back to the vendor they came from, then relist from stockroom. It goes pretty quickly when you don't have to change the price. Then repeat for the next price group. I relisted about 700 items last weekend in about an hour, maybe two.
Why pull items down before they drop to stockroom? Because if I do it manually, I can delist/relist by price group and I won't have a jumbled stockroom of multiple items whose prices I have to look up and type in. Yes it's a pain once a month. I've staggered the "drop times" of my vendors so not all of them are "due" for a relist at the same time. Four of my vendors were due last weekend, while two are coming due this weekend (with only around 200 items total, so that shouldn't be long).
And, of course, this would be a good thing to do before you go on vacation

Phae and Gray both have great tips. I've followed Gray's before, but never thought of Phae's! Genius!

Being banned sounds much better than weekly 5 hour relistathons.
