Thread: vendors...

I found I can make *way* more money doing custom orders than running a vendor.

running a vendor involves stocking a variety of stuff, and hoping the customer will find what they want. And any weapons over 100,000 credits on a vendor don't move at all.

On the other hand, doing custom orders, I can easily push a million credits a day when I "try" (either doing 10, small 100,000 credit orders, or 2 big 500,000 credit custom orders, or anything else)

the other thing is, I only make what I sell. There is no overhead on unsold merchandise, and if a new resource comes along, I don't have to worry about overstock made with the old resource.

Basically, Master Merchant really needs more... merchant abilities besides having a ton of vendors and a few minor perks.

This isn't a flame Xieflow but you are proving that you dont' need any merchant skills to be a crafter and to sell your items. You do it direct to your customer. That is great. There is nothing wrong with it. It isn't for everyone. Some people would rather make a bunch of stuff..stock a vendor and go do something else. Merchant is for them..either being one or hiring one. Merchant isn't required to sell items...it is only required to sell large numbers of items to large numbers of people in an automated fashion.

I agree that Master merchant needs more perks..but not to satisfy what you are doing..you seem to have it covered already.

Well tonight i though if you take stuff off one vendor and its in the stock room your able to access it from any vendor in your house. So with that being said tonight i got master merchant and i wanted to do some cleaning up so one vendor i put all the stuff in stock room. i delete the vendor and im like ok just make a vendor get into the stock room and offer what i want back up their and w/e i dont get ride off. but thats not the case.. i deleted the vendor and all the stuff in stock room went with it.. really pissed at my self over 7 + mil in stuff got deleted.. not to HAPPY....

So if i though it all went in stock room why did it delete?

A common mistake. The stockroom is per vendor, so when you delete a vendor you also delete what is in its stockroom. Note if you resale directly from the stock room you will put it back up on the original vendor as well.
The best way to move stock is to first place the new vendor, then withdraw all the items to the stock room, and then retrieve it standing in front of the new vender. And then finely put it back up for sale.

Your stockroom appears to be a single shared space, but it is in fact unique to each individual vendor.

If you pulled it into the stockroom, you pulled it into the stockroom of THAT vendor.

If you deleted the vendor, its stockroom went with it.

If you file a ticket immediately, a CSR *might* be able to help you.

Before you delete a vendor, ALWAYS check Sales, Offers, and Stockroom for "this vendor" or you're just asking for trouble.

If it is any consolation, you are not the first, and you will not be the last one either. Maybe a warning will be introduced about the same time a "restock all" button is implemented.
