Thread: Devs, Throw Merchants a Bone!!! ::: Merchant Wishlist December 2003 :::
Give merchants with ID skills the ability to ID their vendors!
After about 50 tries to get a human male with a beard for my santa vendor I finally gave up.
Give us the ability to have the ability to specifically mark if items are for a certain person so nobody else can buy them.
Merchants should be able to design what their vendors look like at hiring 4. Rather than spitting out a vendor it would take you to the character creation menu. Drop uniforming to hiring 3.
A different style house that only merchants can get. The tent idea is great but it is a crappy show roo for a tailor.
TOTALLY agree about stopping vendors from turning when they do ad barking, GOD that annoys me.
Also make people have to actually enter merchant tents to use the vendors inside.. so the entry fee is actually useful.
More control over vendor appearance, either through Image Design or high lvl hiring - am at three hours, have YET to get a non-fat, non-old human female merchant. It's very frustrating, since I *AM* just going to keep spitting new vendors out until I get one that will be a fairly good sales representative for my storefront.
Make the efficiency line more useful.. Bazaar sale modifiers are pretty useless.
- Clean up how Registered Vendors show up on the overhead map - if there is more than one right next to each other, all the names will be superimposed, making it difficult to read.
- Vendor Display - hide categories for which the vendor has no items.
- Complete vendor customization control at Hiring 4 (or Master).
- (the iffy one) Either A) More lots! or B) Reduced Lot requirements (e.g., a 1-lot Personal Harvester would take 1/2 lot)
- Fix Planetary Advertising so it is 100%
- Shop Buildings for Player Cities... Tents are ok for kiosks and bazaars, but suck as showrooms
- Let ID's makeover vendors or give us some control over our vendor's, as someone suggested move uniforms to Hiring 3 and add Selective Hiring to Hiring 4 that allows us to customize our vendor's appearance or put this in Master Merchant... I get tired off taking 20 tries to get a vendor that doesn't look like my grandmother.
- Give us a discount function that we can apply to individuals, guilds and factions (ie 25% all Imperials).
- Don't have our vendors change facing when they vocalize.
- Allow Protocol Droid vendors to vocalize.
- Have us register our shops rather than vendors (+10% Maintenance plus +2% per additional category, 1/2 at Advert IV).
How about a galaxy wide advertisement system. People looking for something can pull up the holo or such, look for what they want, find out who is out there, etc.
Of course, we pay a rate for how big of an ad we would like, etc.
I would like to see something like the following added to Master Vendor. I would like a master vendor to be able to create acatalogue vendor.
- It would be a civic structure that a master vendor could put up in a player city, similar to the bazaar
- Vendors in the city could subscribe to the catalogue service, fee to be chosen by the vendor who placed the catalogue vendor.
- Would catalogue and display the products from every vendor subscribed in the player city
- Would allow sells from all city vendors.
- Would not allow pick ups. Pick ups would require someone to go to the actual vendor.
- A sell would cost the seller as much as it does to list an item on the bazaar. The money could go to the city or to the master merchant.
Have a way to show the names of multiple vendors in one spot on the overhead map. The merchant tents have turned this into a freekin nightmare. Really, I think this is top priority.

I turn off "show all waypoints" and then just click on the vendors I want to see on the map. If I want to go to one I create a waypoint to it. Seems to work for me.
