Thread: Evicting a merchant, is it possible?
Just curious. My guild & city have been considering allocating several houses towards being a commercial district and offering it up as vendor space to citizens in our town, with a few small rules.
My question is, in the event we decide a merchant is no longer wanted, is it possible to evict them from the structure? I don't want to grief them by doing something that will destroy their inventory and hard-earned goods or anything, but I also don't want to get into something we might regretwithout a way out.

You can't evict their vendor without a CSR and that is probably not going to happen just for kicks (they have done it at least once that we know if the merchant abandoned their vendor)
You can lock them out of the structure which prevents them from restocking it. The best bet is to have some sort of an agreement between you before you go into the arrangement that has a way for you to get out of it and them agreeing to those terms.
I ad an experience where I WAS able to evict a vendor without CSR help and I'm still not sure if it was a fluke or not. I had setup a tent in my player city and allowed a non-citizen to setup a stim selling vendor in it. The city grew and alot of traffic flowed through the merchant area so I wanted the tent empty for citizen vendors. His vendor had been empty for a long time and really wanted to get my lot back. I used the "Destory all items" option but it didn't get rid of the vendor in the tent. I thought what the heck..and tried to redeed the tent anyway. To my suprise it redeeded the tent and poofed his vendor.
This needs further testing of course. Possiblly I was able to do this only because the vendor was empty. Maybe using the new destroy all items option first allowed me to do it.
