Well first off let me say i am dismayed at the Devs response to why Hex code was removed. That it hurt "PREMIUM SALES". I have never heard any merchants complain about that. It is also not one of our valued skills I think we would all agree.

I propose that "Premium Sale" be replaced by a useful skill. In that tree give Merchants a real, purposefulskill on level 1-4.

Allow higher AUCTIONS

Level - 1 --- up to 10000

Level 2 ---- up to 25000

Level 3 ---- up to 50000

Level 4 ---- Unlimited

This would allow Merchants to have a skill that would be usual, beneficial and help set our profession apart.

People might even ----- GOSH ---- seek out merchants to sell their items for them

In replacing the *, or Premium sale with the auction skill we remove the stated obstacle for the removal of the Hex code. It can then be then reinstated.

This would also give the auction function of the bazaar some use. There is no reason to use it now as opposed to instant sale and many players are ignorant of the fact it only goes to 3000. Most good items get pulled from auction as soon as they clue in.

But my gut tells me that the decision had nothing to do with concern from a couple of disgruntled merchants.

I like this idea in a basic sense. I think the only way to make premium auctions useful is to raise the price cap to a reasonable amount. I don't think it should be set so high as to replace vendors though. If the cap is lifted however, how about charging a flat rate of 5% for any premium sale?

I definitely want to be able to use hex code in my item namesagain!
