even a breakdown with stages matching the resource tree structure for resources, and the "base item" for crafted stuff would be good...

so, for example, we'd be able to search for "creature food", "non-ferrous metal" or "wood" as sub-categories of resources, or "melee powerups" (rather than wading through "factory crates")

and yes... get rid of "factory crates" as a category -- list them under the base item type instead...

Good Call on the factory crates. It is a pain because you have to sift through a bunch of crap to find what it is your really looking for. Imagine if warehouses inventoried things as factory crates! LOL!

Vendor filtering has been a large hole in a Merchant's ability to limit sales to one theme on each vendor.

An in-depth filter based upon the products and resources needs a revamp now. With changes like this the Master Merchant could have a brand-chain setup readily dropped into any potential market, similar to the way I simply have an Asia Brothers label on all my vendors that are remote from my PC city. Except much more useful.

Asia Brothers Industries - Asia Hall SiN CiTY, Dantooine (Offers Vendor at -4703 -1404)

I posted this in the new business and commerce forum but somebody suggested I bring it here. I don't know if it has been suggested before but what do you think. Here is a copy/paste of my post...

One suggestion that I have about the bazaar and vendors is to do deeper filtering. For Example, I go to a vendor/bazaar to find copper. Well I have to filter on Inorganic Minerals which lists all sorts of minerals. It would be very convenient if we could filter deeper and have a subcategory of "copper". Something similar to the tree in the surveying utility.

This would be especially helpful for newer crafters. Let's say your a crafter and you have a requirement for "seeds". Well you don't know exactly what qualifies as seeds and you don't seem to have any seeds in your inventory. So you go on over to the bazaar. Filter for organics, click on the seeds category and now you see that flowers, berries, fruits, fungi, beans, greens, and tubers all count as seeds and you can purchase them right there knowing they will work in your schematic. It seems like a simple enough change but then again with programming nothing is trivial.

What do you guys think? I think it would be very helpful. It would also make it so people don't have to have separate vendors for each type of resource as is common right now. They could make do with a grind and premium vendor for example instead of the "grind ore", "grind copper", "Premium Resources", etc...
