Thread: No longer able to Paste text in Structure Sign?

I am no longer able to paste text ingame in the Set Name option of the structure.


I could a couple days ago... now I can't.

Is this a product of the newest publish? Can anyone confirm?

I assume you have set some keystrokes for copy and paste.

Is paste just not working for you in the house sign or is not working at all? I have not done any copy or pasting recently. It can be finicky sometimes and I will have to copy several times before it actually copies it.

I will give this a try when I get in game next.

I was able to do it just before Publish 12.

My keystrokes are set correctly.


If I paste it does nothing but clear out the sign and say "invalid name"


If I try to backspace it crashes the program with a run time error.

I don't know about the crash, but maybe you are trying to give it a name that is rejected by the name filter.

I can't paste into the set name dialog box either. My keystrokes are functioning correctly, I can copy out of game and paste what I copied in game to the chat window and in notepad. Go figure.

I haven't tested structure names since publish... I could a couple of days ago so will test tomorrow. I can however verify that they HAVE made changs to the copy and paste 'feature'.

I normally copy a list of names into the mailto box for example, but now if that list is too long it won't paste any more - so they got rid of that

The 4000char paste in the body of the mail itself has been there awhile now.

That's the answer I get with nothing in the clipboard.


Copy you text from notepad and paste back into notepad first to make sure the clipboard is populated.

I can still do this, I did this yesterday, I use the email to copy and then paste in the "name"

Was temporary I think. My game crashed several times when I tried to change structure name. But now it works as before.
