Is there any chance i could get a mod to sticky the revamp document for me so that ppl in the community will know it is still active? Id like to be able to find a way to submit it, but i want to be sure everyone has a say first.

Submitting lists like that is the job of the profession correspondant. As is stickying the document. I would prefer letting the new corresopndant, whoever that is, take care of that.

well thanks, but no one was stepping up and offering to put all the ideas together, so i did it ... if that is a bad thing then shame on me, but guess what, it got done. and i dont think that asking for it to be stickied would be a bad thing ... it has been completed, so why make the new correspondent do it all over again?
and hey, if the new correspondent wants to work with this one, then fine by me, but you really need to get a vision document stickied up top for all of us to look at and submit ideas/complaints to.

I think we all appreciate what you've tried to do Laurna, but I don't necessarily think your list should be stickied. Its not official.
I agree with Doc, whoever is chosen as correspondent should put together the new list. I'm sure they'll use your list as a starting point, but there's been some polarized discussion on some of your points to begin with, and I'm sure a new correspondent will want to get the fresh opinions of the entire community in an official capacity.

I am not trying to belittle your efforts in any way nor an I suggesting that they don't deserve to be stickied. I am suggesting that there will be a new correspondant within days and I would prefer to defer to that person to decide what should and shouldn't be stickied and to take care of compiling the next lists for the dev team.
If you are implying that we haven't had any vision documents here that isn't true. We have had a vendor revamp document that I compiled from posts in the forum up for some time with many comments about it. We have done bug lists and other design discussion that all have been forwarded in one fashion or another to the development team. Your document is a good one and I am sure whoever the new correspondant is will appreciate the effort that everyone here has gone to in order to make that document and others.

oh doc, hun, i wasnt implying you werent doing your job. i didnt realize that the eta for a new correspondent was so near in the future, and my words have a way of sounding more harsh in text than they do in my head. sorry about that.
i totally understand your reasons for not wanting to sticky it right now, but i was just asking if it would be possible. i am not a correspondent, nor have i ever been a correspondent, nor have i ever had any kind of control in a forum before, so i was unsure of the rules and reguilations or how i would go about getting it stickied.
i do hope that the new correspondent looks into it at least and takes that overall feedback into consideration and brings some of these points up to the devs, but ill quit working on it for now. i didnt know i was stepping on anyones toes. i just didnt see one anywhere and was told that it would be a good idea to start one.

You're not stepping on anyone's toes and I'm sorry if I gave that impression. I think the work you have done is very good and the community can benefit from all the vision it can get. I am sure whoever the new correspondent is will be happy to have that feedback and will factor that into the information delivered to the devs.
My comment about submitting it to the devs was probably too briefly worded. The correspondents submit big documents to the devs only periodically and they are generally in a format that is put forth by the dev team to collect the data. Its generally much more brief than a vision document but those are great supporting documents to have to create the lists that are required of us. Other ideas are submitted routinely in a more informal fashion generally in cases where they are emergent issues or issues that are causing a lot of immediate stress.
The last big vision document we did was some time ago, but the reason for that was that we have been at a point where we knew we were not going to get on the schedule for several months and there didn't seem to be a lot of point in reworking it. The next few weeks are probably time to go through that all again becuase the chances of getting things done are as good now as they ever have been. There are new team members on the dev side and a plan to make profession revamps part of the major schedule for the coming year.
So keep up the good work of helping the community and a fresh new correspondent face will be named shortly to take over for your weary old correspondent. Don't fear though because though I am limiting my actions in the forum I have not stopped representing you all and continue to send in information and feedback to the dev team until replaced.
