I have always enjoyed merchant but now that the new combat upgrade is close at hand, I am wondering if I should drop merchant and take up combat, even just one basic line?

What is the minimum amount of merchant I need to keep to have NPC vendors?

You can keep all the vendors you have now as long as you stay within your limits.

They can even stay dressed.

If you ever need to change vendors, then you'll run into problems.

I've been a hybrid character the whole time and I like it. Yeah, you can't do high-end combat stuff by yourself but that's the kind of thing I think is more fun doing as a guild outing anyway.

Pfft... Combat is for people who can't afford to buy hide.

Don't mind her. We keep her in our furniture sweatshop. "Now we'll reward you with a "Master" title but still no raise. But hey you've got a neato title!"

If I can ever finish the FS grind (stupid merchant xp cap and insane architect conversion ratio!), maybe I'll make my unlocked character a ranger so I can finally go fetch my own hide.

I hate to say it, but it's probably more efficient to create a stacker template with novice scout. Though your harvesting rate is lower than with ranger, you can bring down far larger critters, hence more hide.

Unfair, ain't it?

I thought when you drop theboxes you can no longer add stuff into the vendors that you don't qualify for?

For now, that seems to be the truth. I've been playing around with my roommate's guy and he definitely doesn't need Ranger to build up hides.

Now if I had an alternate slot, a TKA/BE would be cool. At least for about a month.
