have the new bazaar caps sparked pricing wars on your server?

i am currently involved in a swoop pricing battle on starsider. as u know, the market price for swoops is roughly 25-30k depending on the durability. i happened find some low OQ Steel that had high Shock Res via the vendor search for 1 cpu. i also bought tons of copper and iron at 1 cpu. so basically my costs were 8k of resources at a cost of 8k and minimal maintenace/power costs for the factory.

i produced 45 swoops at 84% durability and placed 25 of them on the bazaar for 20k. they sold like hot cakes! sold out in the 1st day. low and behold i was going to restock the bazaar when i see that some person has underpriced me! now the going price is 19k. with my 1:1 resource cost i am still making 11-12k on each bike but its on now! i may even price my bikes at 15k just to drive out the competition!

Going price on Starsider is already 20k for swoops. I've bought a 75% swoop for 4k.

You call that a price war?

Seriously -- yes. Off a vendor, not an in-person thing. I have to confess, it was on Radiant however. Little shop about 700 meters outside of Bestine, and it was the only one. All the rest were 10k.

I've found that even with low prices like that for swoops, people will still pay a fortune for my swoops.

Yep. I charge more than 20k for my swoops and I don't seem to have any trouble selling them.

and when chunked in a crate of 5 and 10 they sell even faster, people want them as disposable items.

so alot of the time you can do quantity over quality and charge even more

I had to stop selling them in crates because I couldn't keep up with demand

I don't see the point in a price war for Swoops. You are just driving the price down temporarily on something that costs way too much in time and resources to make. The swoops might as well be 45% durability on the Bazaar. You wont know for sure what you get until you deed it. Once you do, you will know why you just paid nothing for it. Flooding the market wont help much either.

If I were you, keep your prices at 20k on the Bazaar. The other guy wont restock fast enough to keep up with demand, and your 20k Swoop with 84% durability will sell just as well as before and you will make a premium on your invested time and effort.

My two cents.

swoops are very easy to make, unlike many other items. 2 ingredients and 2 highly common minerals at that.

to be honest with you, i cant even get my vendors to regester with this stupid galexy search thingy. not that it would matter on tempest, where im 1/30 12pt WS so almost every guild has their own WS, and those that dont go to ppl like felton (WS corospondant) or other well known old school WS and dont give us new ones a chanch. i have been wondering for a while how to bring more profits in off my crafter, due to the fact he has to support not only himslef, but my 2 alts.

20k? Darn, on Bloodfin it seems everyone is selling for 15k base. I even found one or two shops selling for 12k
