Easiest way to make money with mining.

Go to SWGCraft.com and find a Resource with a lot of stats up around 900.

Go out and harvest as much of it as possible.

DO NOT SELL IT!!!

Repeat a few times.

4-6 weeks after the resource shifts, start a post on the Trade Forums about you having it, and start the bidding at 10:1.

It will probably get higher than that real quick.

That's one method, or if you'd like to start generating cash now and eventually establish a customer base, try these methods:

Find the highest concentration of a junk steel/oreyou can, and plant as many harvesters down on it as possible. If you're starting out, and don't want to get overwhelmed with stock, go with ber 10 mediums. Since you're just starting out, I'd assume you don't have any waiting customers, so you could post some on your server's trade forums, and do a little selling at the space port. You shouldn't have any problems movingyour entire inventory daily.

Another method is this:

Contact your local crafters, and ask them what they're looking for resource wise. If it's available at the moment, offer to harvest as much as they'd like for a price you can both agree on. If it's not available, jot down their name and what they're looking for, and let them know you'll set up on some as soon as it's available.I guarantee you that ifyou do either of those things, and the transaction is handled professionallly, that crafter will return to you for more orders.

I do a little of both methods, have been since the start of the public game, and I can't keep any resources in stock. If I were only working my 10 lots, that wouldn't be a surprising statement, but I'm not. I'm managing over 70, plus buying from other resource harvesters who weren't into finding a customer base of their own.

That brings me toanother way you can start to generate some income, contact your local mega-resource seller and offer to do some contract work for him. Get an agreed upon price and quantity and go for it. I've got several standingcontracts people fill for me, namelyfor power (300k) and steel (500k) weekly.

(This is a repost from the game guides forum. Thought maybe I might get a few more tips here.)

I've come into a bit of money recently due to the holocron flood, and I've always wanted to be sort of a professional geologist/tycoon/womanizer, and now I have the means. Can any successful miners out there give me any tips for starting out?

Which harvesters should I start using? Heavies? Or personal extractors and work my way up over time?

Which resources should I focus on first? Rare resources that certain crafting professions need like tatooinian fiberplast (medics), or generic stuff?

Do I need to purchase any extra lots from other players or work with my 10 for now?

Granted I do have some credits (nothing exorbitant; something like 800k credits right now), but I don't want to blow them all at once and then wait on people to visit my shop and start consuming. Please tell me your strategies, tips and hints, and how you climbed to the top of the resource heap!
