Thread: How is Merchant XP gained?

I am not sure how the hourly XP works. Do I need to have the vendors in the same building or can I have them in seperate ones? Do people have to visit them, like be in the room? Or does it not matter? I have them initialized and payed, but do they need items to sell on them? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am not sure how vendor xp is worked.
