Thread: Is there a macro for this?
I have one of those signs on my store that is full of pretty colors, and I have been lately going to my house terminal and selecting "Set Name" to change the sign....the box comes up with the existing sign typed in the box already and all its miles of color codes, and I just add 'restocked 1/6/04' or whatever to the end.
However, today I logged in, restocked, and went to change the sign and it did not default to my existing sign in the type-in box. It was blank, and required me to retype the whole dang thing. I noticed my other properties defaulted to the existing type, so it might vary or might have to do with customization or length.
Anyway, I would love to know if there is a command I can type to access the terminal, select Set Name, and enter a name. That way I could macro that whole process and just go in and edit the date.
If not, oh well. Anyone else have to retype their store title lately?
I know there is a setname command that works for harvestors but I don't know if it works for houses as well. One idea would be to put the entire string into your /notepad and then just cut and paste it from there each day (after making the change to the date)
okee....I know how to put it on Notepad...how do I get it in game? Didn't know there was a paste feature that one could use in game.
While I am asking noob questions about signs, I also see that some people have 3 lines to their signs...is that a notepad code as well?

It works just fine for houses, too. Just target the structure management terminal and type /name <text>
Draznar's guide has more information, too. I remember something about the syntax for hex color codes needing to be slightly different if you were using it in a macro, so take a look at his guide.
