70% of the vendors I visit are now empty. Now that there is no need to register everyday anymore the map is so full of empty vendors that it's getting useless, you still have to end up asking around to find what you are looking for, or waste 2 hours checking empty vendors.
Would it be possible to have to register every week, or to have a check that removes empty vendors from the map? Just a thought...

Amen
Either that or make it so that if your vendor is empty ofr a set amount of time, or has no sales for a set amount of time, it unregisters itself. And it is your rsponsobility to re-register it.
Something like that would not hassle those of us who work hard at keeping our vendors stocked and up to date.

I completely agree.. the best solution would be to only show vendors with items in them on the map (or show them as out of stock), but that would probably tie down the servers when someone requests the map. Something like an hourly refresh of the map would be perfect.

I would actually agree with this. My main vendor (armor) is empty right now and I know it will be a little while before I can stock it, so I unregistered him. I thought about registereing my misc vendor but thought better of it, most people know my shop as an armor one.

Well the vendors still deregister themselves when the servers reboot and someone actually has to spawn the vendors (by entering the building) to get them to spawn again.
But your coming at this from a customer point of view (dont want to waste time with enpty vendors) as a merchant I hated having to constantly relist my vendors, it basically prevented me getting involved in anything that took me away from my house for more than 24 hours
bad idea, sorry. If you dont like empty vendors, make a note of who the 'real' merchants are and only use them
(as an aside, I have had several instances where customers reported my vendors where empty when they actually werent, I guess these people either selected an incorrect catagory or were lagging or something)

If this is the case, people who are getting merchant for holos will just add 1 item at an outrangeous price to avoid it becoming empty and therefore dropping off the map.

I support making the Vendor remove itself from the global map the next time it is accessed and there is nothing in it. This would last until you the next time it was accessed with items in it then it would re-register itself.

Even better if they would let us rename the vendors, then the names could reflect whatever we have in stock, specials or new items.
