Hi all. I know that I sound like an idiot... but I read the FAQ and did a search and I'm still confused. I don't understand what/where a stockroom is.

I'm a master Doctor and I want to start selling some resources and medical supplies, so I figured that I should climb the merchant tree a little for better vendors & reduced fees.

I've read a couple of things about stockrooms, and mainly to not put anything into your stockroom because it could get deleted after 7 days.

So, is a stockroom one of the rooms in your home? If so, which room is it?

Again, I feel like an idiot to ask something that would seem to be so easy to understand, but I just don't get it.

Thanks, and sorry to clutter the forum with such a newbie thread.

Stockroom is not a place in the game but rather inside the vendor. Sort of like the bazaar is not really a huge warehouse.

If you look on your vendor it has a tab for stockroom. This is where items that have been removed from sale or have timed out, go. Supposed to be a temporary area that the items reside while you decide what you are going to do with them but some people are storing massive amounts of items there with no intention of ever selling them. Hence the change that is coming to spank the rest of us for the abuse done by those (ie the new item limit on vendors).

As for how long they reside there..... I think it is currently unlimited but don't bet your 2000 krayt pearls on my word

The stockroom is one of the three tabs in the vendor interface for the owner of the vendor. (The others are Sales and Offers)

Items go into the stock room when you buy an item from the offer screen, or when you withdraw an item from the sales screen, or when something from the sales screen expires (after 30 days).

Once items go into the stock room you must retrieve them or re-sell them within 7 days or they will go away.

Thanks so much for the answers. I haven't placed my first vendor yet, and was trying to understand what was involved before actually beginning. Appreciate the quick response!!

It's a virtual stock room. Just like your vendor couldn't REALLY hold all the things you put up for sale on it.

I would guess that it's getting deleted as a pressure release for the vendor database which is hemoraging right now as we speak (type, whatever!)

That's why the Devs recently proposed the two changes in the vendor and bazzar databases. People would place hundreds of items on there vendor and then withdraw the sale causing the item to be deposited in the stock room. The is not coded to handle the huge strain that thousands of people have put on it.

It would be nice if we had some furniture or lockers that we could actually store stuff in and it not count against the house inventory, but that would be another thread.

This is a very good question, so who's the idiot who one-starred this?

The stockroom is where items go just before the vendor automatically deletes them

No really, they get deleted if you don't remove them.

SEVEN DAYS!
When did they change that?
With the 30 day change?

The stockroom is like the vendor owners version of Available Items after items for sale time out and fall off.

HEY, where can you see those 1-star ratings anyway?

I looked through most of the options at the top of the thread but don't see individual ratings, but everyone keeps commenting on them???

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."
