When you drop merchant skills the following happens .....
If you drop skils that decrease the amount of vendors you can have so that you have more vendors than you are allowed then you will not be able to add stock, remove stock, buy items offeredor use the stockroom onALL yourvendors until you either delete all your extra vendors or gain enough skill and train the skills back.
If you drop skills that allow you to customize the clothing of your vendor then nothing happens your vendors will still be clothed as you clothed them before.
If you drop skills that decrease your upkeep fees then your fees will go up again.
If you drop skills that add you to the map, i've noticed sometimes you stay on the map and sometimes you don't.
If you drop skills that allow you to change signs, as far as i know you still keep the sign you chose.
If you drop skills that allow your vendor to bark, i've noticed that sometimes they stop barking and sometimes they don't.
