Hi, I'm a 3-0-4-4 merchant witha mall on Starsider where I run 7 vendors for myself and guildmates. For months these vendors have sold hundreds of items each, simultaneously, and there's been no issue. Today when I was halfway through restocking, I got the message that this vendor had reached its maximum limit of items for sale. Then I found I was getting this message from all seven of my vendors, including one that has only 98 items on it.

I pulled about 40 items off into the stockroom, but could not put a single one back up for sale. I then retrieved over 40 items off the stockroom into my own inventory, and still I couldn't put anything up for sale.

Another oddity was one of my vendors shows that it has 298 items for sale when I check its status, but when I look at the items for sale, there are only 191. I tried logging off for 20 minutes, but that didnt seem to reset anything either.

Is this anything anyone else has come across? Should I file a ticket or is there an easy fix?

do you have items in backpacks? the items inside count against the max item limit.

how many items do you have in your vendors total? it'll be easier to answer your question if that's known.

Go by total on vendor status, not the interface window

remember that items in bags ARE counted, when the bag itself is not {unless it is empty}

your total is acrost all vendors..not per, 1000 on one vendor or 1000 split up, it is 1000 period {or whatever your limit is}

if you are above your max limit and are trying to stock it back up, you cannot do so until you get down below your max again.

It's odd that you pulled items off the vendor, but couldn't put them back up. Did you drop a merchant skill box recently? This would affect how many items you could have for sale.

And like Ani said, the number of items for sale is capped across all vendors - not each one. If your limit is 1000 items and 1 vendor has 990 items (check vendor status to see how many items it has), then your other vendors can only have 10 items total. I don't believe that items in the stockroom, on the bazaar, or offered to your vendor count against the total, but I could be incorrect about one of these...

If I'm remembering correctly, at 3044 you get 9 vendors and 2750 items.
If you exceed either of those numbers, you will not be able to put items on sale.

As others have said, items in packs count against your item limit but the pack itself does not unless it's empty.
The only true item count is displayed on the vendor's status screen. The one on the sales interface will not give a correct count because it only counts packs of items asa singleitem.

I am justa day old Master Merchant, but I had an idea. Does the offered items count against the max vendor limit? If that were the case then perhaps someone offered a bunch of crap to one of your vendors?

Ah, thank you so much everyone for you quick responses! I was not aware that items in bags counted towards the limit. It's no surprise (now) that I started getting this message in the middle of placing some special clothing orders on one of my vendors, each bag containinga *lot* ofitems. Items in bags don't count in the stockroom or on the offers, so I wasn't expecting it to count onthe sales section ofavendor. Now I know better!

Now that those orders have been picked up, I'm likely able to sell more items again.

Thanks again for enlightening me!
