Thread: Current Vendor Bugs
I want to try to capture all known issues with vendors. Please avoid using this post for feature requests or wishlist items.
My list of known (here on the forum) issues are:
1. Terminal and Droid Vendors Don't Initialize properly for many people.
2. Retrieving from the Vendor with a full inventory can result in lost items
3. Many people are experiencing situations where it appears they are losing items but those items are really there just not showing up on there interface. Some evidence suggests that the vendor is not really "showing all' and is stuck on some other category.
4. Maintenance Rates seem to be off on some vendors. This may be related to daily server maintenacne windows or maybe not. The rate doesn't seem to be consistant with the display in the Vendor Status window in these cases.
5. Sales Tax on Offers Screen. Intended? Seems to be a double taxation issue for many merchents (this is close to being a wishlist but I include it just to see if it is intended to work this way)
6. Sales taxes are fixed at the time of the sale being created not the purchase. This means sales tax changes after the items are on sale are not reflected. (same as #5 mainly I think we need an answer about whether this is intended)
7. Vendors still turn to fact the wall to bark at a player outside your shop. This causes them to be out of position for players in the shop.
8. "This Item No Longer Exists" errors are eating merchandise. ( refunding credits doesn't make up for a potentially irreplacable item being destroyed)
9. Some times vendors disappear entirely for periods of time only to return later. (Sometimes after a server reboot sometimes on their own even before a server reboot)
10. Global Advertising doesn't show up after a server reboot until after someone visits the vendor for the first time.
Those are mine. Does anyone have any others?

Don't know if this qualifies as a bug but it's certainly annoying. Vendor sales are independent of bazaar sales (i.e. if you have reached your limit for bazaar sales you can still sell unlimited amounts on a vendor). However, offers to a vendor are not. If you have 25 items for sale on the bazaar (or purchased and waiting to be picked up), you are unable to make offers to a player vendor.
That is certainly annoying. I don't think it is a bug exactly, and we have it on our list of items in the "Top 5" to ask for a change to that to strengthen our ability to create business relationships with crafters.
Known Bugs
- Surrender Skill:Players can place vendors, surrender Merchant skills, and still retaining the use of the vendors. This undermines those that are merchants, and makes our class a throw away. NO OTHER CLASS IN THE GAME ALLOWS YOU TO RETAIN A SKILL AFTER YOU BACK OUT OF IT!!!
- Not on Planet Map: After server reset the vendor must exist before it will show on planetary map.
- Not Initialized: Even though vendors have been initialized, some vendor gives you this error when using it. Only effects Droid annd Terminal style Vendors. Workaround Thread
- Multiselect Item Deletion: If you multiselect and retrieve more than your inventory can handle, you will lose the items that do not fit in you inventory.
- Tax on Offers: Offers to vendors in PC are taxed. Thus, items that are resold are taxed twice.
- Disapearing Vendors: Vendors randomly vanish, sometimes returning on server rest, sometime not. This may be tied to the house being on a server boundary. CSRs have fixed a few.
- "This Item No Longer Exists": Item is not gained, but credits are refunded. ( refunding credits doesn't make up for a potentially irreplacable item being destroyed)
- Vendor Damage: Vendors do not report that they are nearly out of maintence.
- Custome Ad Barking: The %TT and so on do not work in the "NON CANNED" barks.
- Failed to create vendor. Your inventory may be full. The volume of the female Aqualishes are bugged such that it takes up more space in your inventory than you have available.
- Signs in wrong place: Merchant Signs on some house are not placed correctly.(Partial List: Sm. Corellian Style 2, Sm. Generic, Med. Corellian, Med. Generic, Lg. Naboo, Lg. Tatooine)
- Empty Stockroom/Offers: All items on Stock Room or Offer disappear after dealing with one. For some reason a category is being changed, so list only shows this empty category. Fix by clicking All.
- Efficiency: The maintenance rate does not always reflect the Efficience skill. Fix by paying some maintenance (even 1 credit will do).
- No Emails: Some users stop receiving emails. Fix by using the /emptyMail command until you get the "unable to empty mailbox" message.
Ok, I have just expierenced one.
When loading my vendor, I had 10 stacks of various resources, it only showed me 7, when I tried splitting them, none of them showed up in the vendor sale window.
I then recombined them, and that item was totally gone from the vendor sale window, even though it was in my inventory. If I put them in a bag, they showed up, but the second I moved one of the 'visible' items into the bag, the whole bag was invisible to the vendor.
Any ideas? LOL
I've seen that before myself. Logging out and back in usually fixes it for me. Not sure what is happening there. You could always sell them from the bag instead.

Can't we request that they just disable this period. Most merchants face the vendor where they want it to face from the start. Either that or it needs to lock in on a customer and follow it but that seems like it will open a whole new set of problems. Just deactivate vendor movement. I won't even use add barking because of it and I would really like to.

Yea disabling the rotation has been my suggetion to fix it. that would solve the whole thing.
This happened to me once. I attributed it to having put clothing on the vendor before initialzing it but that was just a guess. I never did it that way again after that. I got a CSR to reimburse me for the items stuck on the vendor.
Mine is, that after registering on the planetary map, I realized I had hit the wrong button. I went back to unregister, and di so even though the command was still 'register" rather than "unregister". It told me I unregistered from map. Now, however, I cannot seem to register it again.
Is this a time thing? Or a bug? If it's time, I'd like to see a message that says when I can re-register.
