Anyone else notice an incogruity with SOE's alleged data base problems and the release of new loot items?
First SOE claims to have data base problems, to such an extent that a merchant revamp is required.
Next SOE releases new loot kit items, 10 pieces to a kit, 9 pieces are as common as Nunas on Naboo, while the adhesive is more rare than a Peko Peko Albatros. This causes players to keep all the common loot kit items, hoping for that one rare piece. Now multiply that by 5 for for the five different loot kits.
And with the latest pub 10 , SOE introduces ..... more new loot. This time in the form of at least 4 different resources looted from Sith Shadows, non stackable, of course. Worse yet, SOE makes no announcement of the intended use for these resources. Are the resources used exclusively in FS crafting quests? Do they have some use down the road in the jedi progression? No one knows, so no one is willing to delete these resources. Once again a large increase in the number of stored items.
Starting to see a pattern here?
And since all good "flame the devs" threads include proposed solutions, here are mine :
1. Increase the drop rate on adhesives. This allows players to craft the item rather than hoarding 8 or 9 pieces while hoping for the rare drop. The completed items are strictly decorative and have been in-game for a while now.
2. An official word on the intended use of the new FS resources. Are these items even worth an inventory space to non-crafters?
3. Allow stacking of FS resources, and spawn like resources at identical stats so they can be stacked.
4. Allow stacking of items like janta hide, NS armor layers, rancor teeth etc. (not mentioned above but included for obvious reasons)
5. Establish an internal line of communication between the data base administrator and the game devolopers. AS of right now, this looks to be a classic case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing.
Flame away !!!

excellent point! but if you read some of the posts, you'll find one that hits the nail on the head.. too many people leaving the game = data base problems + creation of new accounts to hold stuff. these accounts in diablo were called 'mules' and they were totally needed if you wanted to get enough items to trade for the ones you wanted, or to have enough different items so you could switch your char or chars around. one thing different about diablo and this game is $$. in diablo, there is no charge to play the game except for the purchase of it, and no extra games areneeded to create more chars to use as 'mules'. there is no data base problem, they just want to force people to buy another game, pay for another account, to create a 'mule'.
angel.
p.s. fix your damn spell check to actually correct the spelling, please!
