I'd like to know how a vendor with 74 items for sale can be considered abandoned in the SWG world? I have to visit my vendor soon to prevent it from being removed from the game? Please tell me this is a bug...

How long has it been since you've visited the vendor, or had a sale from that vendor? I think one of the questions going around right now that hasn't been answered to anyones satisfaction is linked to what you're bringing up right now.

I hadn't visited it, and unfortunately no sales from that one for about a week... Still, with 74 items up and current, the vendor shouldn't be flagged as "abandoned"...

This sounds like a bug. I don't believe a vendor is considered "abandoned" until items fall to the stockroom and remain there for a certain period of time. You should submita ticket.

Disclaimer: The following information is only supposition and NOT supported by any evidence other than the patch notes stating "empty OR abandoned...for 2 weeks"

Now that's out of the way........

I personally feel that it is working as intended. However that "intention" has not been defined by the Dev's.

Here is what I've concluded.

1) After being empty for 2 weeks, the vendor deletes itself. (be smart and DON'T have excess maintenance)

2) The Dev's know that people use vendors as storage. Those said people usually keep those vendors in a basement or backroom far from the public traffic or list the items at the max allowable price.

3) That being said I believe that the Dev's added this as a way of limiting using vendors as a means of storage. Their thinking is probably, "if the vendor sees no customers or attention from the owner for two weeks, then they don't deserve to have that vendor".

So in closing I think they MEANT for the patch notes to read "OR" and not "AND".

Just my little conspiriousy (sp?) theory for you to ponder.

Cheers

I received the same message, yet I visit the vendor almost daily as does my Alt (who browses it). Also, others come into the shop and browse the vendor - along with other more active vendors. I haven't had a sale yet (very specialized goods -but I also haven't registered it on the map or advertised it because it's not quite ready). What's going on here?

Does anyone know if this new "feature" forces us to have an actual sale within a specific amount of time?

Well, I'm better than dirt! Well, most kinds of dirt.
I mean, not that fancy store-bought dirt.
That stuff's loaded with nutrients. I can't compete with that stuff.

It would be nice to get an official response on this just so I know how to proceed from here... If I don't sell something, list something, or de-list something from my vendor am I in danger of losing it even though it is stocked for sales?

Thanks,

I actually use 1 vendor specifically for storage (I have merchant 0/0/0/3). If it is true, then what was the purpose of putting the item cap in the first place? I know for a fact the item cap was put in place mainly for db issues. If I have to use skill points to even use my vendor now then I have every right to use the vendors the way I want it. The other thing is, it's not fun restocking the items you store anyways, and stocking merchants feels more like a job then actually having fun...

Now I do know that my nurse vendor has like a 1 backpack on it, but the moment I restocked the backpack (has a sign to tell them to go to anothe vendor in the guildhall), vendor went back on the planetary map.
