Thread: Vendor idea reservation
I frequently find myself wanting to put something specially ordered by a customer, sometimes at a non market price due to special circumstances, but everytime I do this I run the risk of someone else snagging it first.
It would be very nice if we could reserve items for specific customers; specify the customer name in a special field when putting the item up for sale, assuring that noone else can buy it.
I agree this would be a great idea.
I'd also love it if there was an 'entry' list and a 'ban' list option on vendors, so I could selectively allow customers to use a single vendor, while allowing general access to the others.
I would love such access restrictions on the vendor.
I've been meaning to set up a special vendor for guild only, using a dedicated house for this, using the house entry list to restrict access.
But would the vendor not be accessible from any of my other vendors by changing the location filter ?
Which would mean that people without access to the house containing the special vendor would still be able to buy from it ( but not retrieve the items ) ?
In that case we most definitely need vendor access lists, and possibly a choice to disconnect a specific vendor from your "public vendor network", preventing people on a public vendor from listing, bidding on or buying items on a "private" vendor. There are many uses for private vendors : Guilds, vip customers, selling in bulk to certain people for non-market prices etc.
Only you get the "Region" and "Planet" options in your vendors. The customers only see the items on that vendor.
But I agree that having a "reservation" option would be nice for special orders.
The idea of "sections" in a house also comes to mind, you could have a vendor in your basement, and grand access to that part of the house to the right people. That is why I wanted it.
I had "hidden" a vendor in my shop, no one ever found it, including the people I wanted to find it at times, so I gave up.
