Thread: Merchant Correspondent Input Request (Week 1)
Hello fellow Merchants,
Given that this is a one month job, there is no time waste!
I am tasked to look around the forums, and complie a list of the top 5 issues that we would want addressed... I want to make sure that my emails to the dev team are constructive, and will help us help our buying community.
I want to toss my 5 top fiveout, and get your feedback and your issues. Then I will compile the email to send out.
Please, do not rant, we all know the issues. I have to survey the landscape and come up with the top issues, wants, and concerns. If this becomes a rantfest, then good input may get lost on the rants.
My top five issues that need to be addressed ASAP.
- Unable to retrieve things out of vendors, including our stockrooms, is for the most part killing our ability to use our vendors with trust and confidence. The fact is, no merchant is going to place a 100k large house into a vendor, if there is a very good chance that we may not get it out.
- The "Vendor" action on the house needs to be fixed. This will allow merchants to band together and create shops that can have many different peoples vendors in one spot. The money it takes for the upkeep of a house and a vendor, with no ability to spread those costs out, can kill the merchant class.
- Fix the AD tree, Level I Barks are 50/50, Level II don't work at all, and Level III Map placement is also on and off. Given that the game has not provided ANY real way to distinguish a house from a shop, barks are our only way to reach clients.
- We need some way, maybe via the house menu, to make a house a shop, and by doing to SOMETHIHG, a flag, a banner (even the one related to the planet), a lighted sign, anything, that will set a shop apart from a normal house.
Please add your comments, and I am in no means tring to point out every "bug" there is. I want to point out what needs to be addressed ASAP, and other issues we are running into. My list is not set in stone. If you all think that something else is more pressing, please post it.
The list I send to the devs does not mean it will be fixed, so no rants if we do not get respone the next day.
Sorry for spelling, not my strong point.
There are a few other things I would like addresses related to Merchants having some sort of Link or way to make users of a Town Bazaar able to see a list of nearby shop or something like that but this is something that can be addressed after the 5 you mentioned are addressed first.
If they only fix one of those 5 you mentioned I will be happy.
Good Luck and "Give em Hell" Marqie

Ooops, I meant I agree with your 4 Points
I was just testing Ya to see if you were paying attention
Mr. Gimpboy,
I think that once the major issues are fixed, this job will turn into more of a "How to make us better" not what needs to be fixed.
I would have to go with your list but add one at the top. You can't hvae a resource vendor due to the split bug. this is TOTAL imparing the resource trade. You and I have to do a work around to get stuff on the vendor and not have it go bad. The issue that sucks is that no costumer (who knows this) will buy the goods from you b/c you can cheat them so bad.
A. you split resources into smaller lots
B. post on vendor
C. Buy the one that carries all the resources yourself
D. Sell the bugged ones they can never retrive to your costumers
E. Reuse same reasources to do the same con over agian
If you don't know the bug let me explain furthur.
You can't split resources in your inventory and then sell them. It makes them bugged. The first container says only the small amount but really carries all teh resources in it. The person to buy that one makes out likea king! and the other people all give money for nothing. You cna work around by pulling from your harvesters in small amounts or tradeing the small unit to a friend to post on your vendor for you. Both are long and unenjoyable work arounds. Plus your costumers have a hard time trusting you ![]()
I didn't see xp from NPC vendors not updating until they are used listed. I have two NPC vendors and the xp only updates when the vendor is used.
This is a bug yes?
Other than what you've state marqie, the only thing I can think of is that premium sales don't work. They cost 100 credits, but show up like any other sale on the bazaar.
Without a doubt, the #1 problem with a bullet (or a blaster shot) is that vendors are not linked to the bazaar. This worked in Beta, so why isn't it working in the live version? (I know, I know, I shouldn't ask those questions...)
Without vendors being linked to the bazaar, the whole vendor thing seems kinda pointless for merchants. I love using vendors to distribute resources to the fellow Architects in my PA, and for selling items to faction members. But other than that, it's been a huge disappointment, and I'm just about ready to pack up my Merchant skill points until I hear this one problem is fixed.
This is a good list. I have noticed a particular problem with resources and vendors. In fact, in the last few days, all resources stacks have become unretrievable from all my vendors.
