Hi there, I'm new to the Merchant profession, but this level of Advertising inspired me to start working on Merchant.

Now what i'd like to know is: Does it work?
How do you employ npc's to advertise your wares in the cities?

Um, you need to look at your skill tree a little closer. If you're going by any sort of guide, it's outdated.

Advertising 4 was stealth-nerfed a couple of patches ago. The skill as you see it does not exist.

Now, Ad 4 just lowers the cost of placing your vendor on the planetary map.

doh, thanks mate, i knew there was a reason i never read about skills in that prima craptastic guide. Forgot it was all written during beta hehe.
