I have been drawn into the GCW looking for the CA disks and also becoming a smugglar...but

I dont want to give up my Master Merchant Title but I am out of points.

My questions is:

Whenwe get player citys what options will this open up for Master Merchant?

Can we get some information on skill trees regarding Player cities?

Please help I want to have a reason to keep the Title

i am in the same boat as you lowarzek. I was the first Master Merchant on my server and i had a great time with it.. but because of a lot of the recent changes it does not make sense for me to be a Merchant anymore unless they make some big changes for our profession. I've started down the path of Smuggler/Pistoleer and unless things are changed, i'll be unlearning Master Merchant, which is a shame.

The most basic point right now is that crafters are able to get their own resources and sell their own goods all on their own. They don't need suppliers and they don't need distributers (like in the real world). A master crafter is so self sufficiant that they can make millions of creds each week without anyone else. This system has no interdependance and reasonable limits, so one person with a good template can get/make/sell all their stuff on their own.

What will it take to see someone tackle the Merchant issues head on? I guess if all merchants striked that would do it! But no one will do that. MAybe if there was some exploit that allowed us to hide in vendors and sock people in the nose.. Nah, probably not. Make a vendor that has 180-1900dmg at 1.1 speed and has a knockdown range of 128m! YEAH! THAT'LL DO IT!

I really wish I could strike. I really wish I could just get some sort of response from someone who cared.

I can say that Politician will most likely come from the Artisan Tree. Who knows what else will be introduced later on. There is so much to come. Vehicles, space travel, and player cities. These all take time to develope unfortunatley. Plus with the way you can surrender points and relearn an entirely different feild provides you with almost enless possabilities!

Thx

I just wonder how much time they spent thinking about the master merchant bonuses (1 single different looking bot vendor, not even an added one). Who would bet over one minute?

I think anyone who actually was a merchant in Beta was an idiot. I'm sorry but there were all sorts of things that were erased from the merchant class since Beta that were taken out because they were not utilized.

I just want to put clothes on my vendor like it says I can do!

I'm sorry, that has to be the funniest statement I've heard. Either you didn't play a merchant in beta, or you didn't pay much attention to your class.

I was a Master Merchant in beta. Until two weeks before the end of beta, TWO ENTIRE skill lines were empty. At that point, new skill titles were put into the boxes, but NOT implemented. (Example: vendors and shop stalls inside city limits). Finally, at the last big "retail level" patch before beta ended, the current skill tree was dropped into place. So we're talking about a little over a weeks worth of testing, and only on ONE server, as the other beta servers had been character wiped.

Before you start throwing around personal insults, such as about -my- intelligence and/or level idiocy, find out what you're talking about first.

Thanks guys....I am just looking for some DEV love...like hints that my Profession is worth keeping..see below:

I can sell back Master and keep the tree that gives me cheaper maint

Sell the Advertizing Tree - I have to reset it every day

Sell the Hiring Tree till I get ONE npc vendor and still do the same as I do now

My point is all the rest of our Profession is worthless....I make most of my money...pause for effect

Selling face to face and using the bazaar...WHY?

My suppliers went into bussiness for themselfs - tons of them - I even trained most of them for tips

The do not need me...why sell to me cheaper - when you can sell on a vendor in your own shop...and if you have a needed item people will find you...

We are like a K-mart WalMart without stuff to sell - a empty shell

Please let us know if we will get some love with player citys...please...because I know as soon as I sell my skill back you will fix my proffession...and getting the skill boxs back will be hard

To make it clear here is what I want:

DEV says:

1. Master Merchant will lead to Cantina Owner in Players Citys

2. Master Merchant will lead to Mayor of Player city

That all I need to keep my skills - no dates - no skill trees to see - just the Love of letting me keep my skills for a reason other than having people may fun of my title calling me a moron for having a useless skill set..yes I wear my badge (Master Merchant) with pride...while people kick dirt on me.
