Thread: Merchant exp cross-planets?
I am fairly new to this profession, I've been babysitting my vendors for the past week and have been offered to place a vendor at a high traffic area on a planet other than where my other vendors and entry fee houses are. I noticed I was getting exp while being 6000m or so away from my vendors on the same planet, but I do not know how cross-planetary experience works.
My question is simple: If I'm online, will I receive exp from merchants on both planets? Or only the one that I am on?

Online, offline , same planet, different planet whatever u still get the xp, if i remember correctly you get 150 xp an hour per vendor no matter what, sales or no sales.
Oh so thats whats going on... been trying to figure out why my merchant exp slowed way down suddenly..

There is currently a bug that prevents you from getting xp if your vendor is not loaded into the world. What causes your vendor to be loaded? Someone standing near them. It might be you or it might be someone else. But currently if no one is near them they don't generate XP. I am asking the devs to look into this. I"ll let you know what the response is on it.
To answer the posters original question. It has nothing to do with you, but in effect if no one is at your location you won't get xp. That MAY mean that you can't get xp from two planets at present unless you can convince someone else to babysit your vendors for you. Hopefully this won't be going on much longer.

Something like "Cheap Holocrons Inside" will probably do the trick... course it will get you 5 million tells an hour and a lynch mob if they learn you're just using them for xp

as of the last patch that is not true. I do not even receive 1/4 what I should if I am offline or not in the same zone as my vendors...and thats the case with many other merchants, which is why we've had to resort to AFK keepalive macros
