I was searching around for a new profession for my Bio-Engineer (after 6 months it's time to move on) and was considering Master Merchant, but I just don't see the value in using all those experience points for what seems to be little gain.
I'd much rather be an actual businessman; I'd like to be able to "lease" a vendor to another player. Perhaps something along the lines of granting administrative rights to them in exchange for a small percentage of sales (admin gets say 97%, merchant gets 3%?). Or perhaps selling the vendor avatar outright, with a higher maintenance cost for non-merchants and a percentage rate to the vendor creator (merchant) built in?
Just some thoughts which might have already been picked over by you major merchants, but wanted to put it out there.

Read the "Do away with Merchant but let crafters keep it" thread. then decide if you want Merchant as your primary prof.

Heheh, went thru the first page of that thread, but it just seems to be going in circles. Also, It sounds very familiarto threads on just about every other profession forum (Why Can't I -place skill here- like-place profession here- so I don't have to -place dependance here)
