First get the management tree. The 4 extra vendors (beyond novice) are another 600 xp an hour for doing nothing at all (which is about 13k xp a day).
Access fees: For each person pays a the access fee on a house you own (the house is on your lots) you get 50 XP. But you can only get toughs 50 xp one every 15 min per person per house.
The get the same xp from visitors to you shop as from the 4 extra vendors, you need 276 access fees paid each day.
For the vendor browsing XP. You can get it once per 10 minutes per person, no mater how many vendors that person browses. Again you need 276 browsing's to get same amount of as the vendors.
If you can get a business up and running that have 9 people come in to your house and browse you vendor every hour, then you can double the XP you get per day compeered to doing nothing but having you vendors...
My advice... Use the time it takes to master merchant to grind out another crafting based profession, and sell the products you make at production cost. No reason to stress about it and get friends to franticly run in and out of you houses and browse you vendors. I would only recommend this for getting throe the management tree.

I have a quick question that is sort of on this topic. I have just reached Merchant 4/4/4/4, so I need to know how is the best way to get Master? Does it use AP like other professions or is it regular XP? If AP how is the best way to getAP. I have sat in the cantinas and by Starports but no one wants Merchant training.

Well lets assume you have novice merchant and No merchant XP... At first you get 300 xp/hour for you 2 vendors... and you need 10000 to get management 1.
10 000 / 300 = 33.33 hours.
Then you need 20000 xp to get to management 2 but not you have 3 vendors.
20 000 / 450 = 44.44 hours.
Then to management 3...
30 000 / 600 = 50 hours.
And finally management 4.
40 000 / 750 = 53.33 hours.
A total of 182 hours or sp, if we assume the server is up for 23 hours a day ... this would take 8 days roughly.
For here on out you get 900 xp per hour, and you have 300k xp to go so 333.33 hours or with 23 hour days 15 days.
So no longer the 23 days. During the progress throe the management tree, it easy to speed the process up a bit, if you have some friends willing to help you out, but after that it will take a huge effort to shorten the time. One person standing next to you vendor browsing it every 10 minutes all day every day would only shorten the last 15 days to 11 days. But would shorten the first 8 days, to 5 days.

You have to use AP of cause, like every other profession.
As easy way to get AP is if you have a friend who have the engendering line of artisan but who do not have the domestic line. Just have that person grind wind harvesters and continual learn domestic 1. It costs 500 general crafting xp and gives 20 AP.
Else I would suggest going to tattooing where all the characters arrive, and stand there and teach skills.

for AP... my suggestion would be to get ranged support 1... find some combat profession that doesnt have it, but has max'd their combat exp... and just teach them it over and over. Offer to pay like 40k or so.. and you will find someone to do it.

Yes, you can put 10 small Naboo style 2 houses up and get 50 xp per visit per person per house per 15 mins. So 500 xp per person every 15 minutes.

What used to work (don't know if it still does) is if you had those 10 houses and a line of people go in and out of them paying the access fees while you follow behind the last person and tear down the house. Then set it up and set the access fees again. This used to make it so you didn't have to wait 15 minutes and could accumulate all your xp fairly quickly if you had some friends willing to help you out.

Doh! The redeeding costs ![]()
BTW, the BEST way to master Merchant is to do it while you are mastering other professions. Get all of your vendors up, initialized and paid for, then go out and grind away other professions or *gasp* just have fun in the game. Have a friend check your vendor periodically (as, if I am not mistaken, the vendor's "Bank" the exp until ONE of them is viewed by another player). It will be a slow grind but it is one that requires almost no attention from you (Pay the vendors for a full month as you can always withdraw payment later) other than getting trained everyso often.
