After placing a merchant tent, is it posible for a master merchant to transfer the ownership of the tent over to a non merchant player?

You can only transfer a tent to someone with merchant efficiency-4 (the same skill it takes to place). All of the structures that require a skill to place (tent, theater, cantina, and hospital) do a skill check at both placement and transfer.

This may be obvious... but can I place as many merchant tents as I have lots for? Or can I only place one?
