So.. Where does all this cash that we merchants are supposed to earn go ??

I hear people are making 1-2, heck 10 million credits...

Just one question.. WHAT THE HELL IS IT GOOD FOR.

Who needs 1 million credits ??

I know the economy is young, but there are no real money sinks in the game (Yes vendor maintenance is one, that when NPC's get fixed will hurt). But this money sink only hurts merchants. Its not going to hurt end users, as if we put our prices up to cover the maintenance and still make a profit, we will drive all the end users just to buy direct from a crafter on the street and avoid the 50-100% mark-up we need to cover our costs..

Structure maintenance is trivial. Training maintenance is trivial, especially as you can generally find someone to train you for next to nothing. Travelling cost is even trivial (although this shouldnt be expensive).

High vendor maintenance - will just put merchants out of business.

Higher Structure (specifically harvester) maintenance - is the only way I can see to increase the money drain, as this cost would be passed all the way to the end user.

You can tell there are no real money sinks, as a small house only costs 10k. Personally I think they should be 40k - Weapons are about the only items selling at their true worth.

Maybe it's just the "goldrush" effect that is bound to happen at the start of an economy like this, but to be honest I don't have a clue, I'm no economist.

So I ask again. What functional use does money have in this game ??? - Who needs 10 million credits for anyhting other than bragging rights. ??

and i think all of that money will come in handy when we're finally able to buy ships and other big expensive things..

but you're right.. i never want to hit a point where money is no object to me..

The Archetect Correspondant had a few good points to this. In short he said that casinos, when added, should not give credits, but "prizes" Items that can not be crafter. House items, gems for sockets, or other things like that.

That will pull money out of the eco, and replace it with items. If they make the games really games, A huge money sink could be made.

Yeah thi sis a good idea, but I dont see HOW they can impliment this. Children play this game. Someone is going to get upset about their child gambling, even if it is in the context of a game. With this in mind, the only way teh could get round this is to make it almost a cash for faction perks type thing, which defeats the point really - of sucking money in for little or no return..

I believe it's up to us merchants to set the prices throughout the galaxies. I wont sell a Laser rifle for less than 25k for instance.. - Lets price fix if that's what it takes.... (i know this wont work without taking vendors away from crafters - something that has been thrashed to death multiple times) - but I Dont know what the solution is... Things are just too **edit** cheap..

This game is rated T for teen. So this is not an issue.

AC has had a form of gambling in it for some time now
