I have this apparently "whack" idea of having a protocol droid as my weapon vendor and am skilling up the obviously not so popular hiring tree ... I'm at the totally useless level 3 (my vendors refuse to wear clothes I give them, despite the skill being called uniforms) and nothing near a protocol droid in sight

Could somebody tell me if I'll be able to hire my dream vendor after gathering the next 40k XP in the next week (hopefully) ... will I then be able to hire a **edit** droid that any 4 year old should be able to command? Or is it all a waste of time (and especially skillpoints)?

Sometimes I just get the idea, that this so calle MMORPG is really so non-roleplaying, it's sad

I hate to be the bearer of this news...

But I think to hire a protocol (And I assume you mean a C-3PO type droid). you need to be MASTER MERCHANT...

Curiosity: Does anyone know if droids are 'terminals' or 'NPC's for the purposes of figuring maintainence? Or are they 'both'?

I am paying 14,000cr a DAY to maintain my resources terminal because I dont' want to have retrieval bugs(lost customers from my NPC-thief) ..I'm bloody sick of it!

from my understanding of the matter droids are terminals in terms of maintence and resources actually working.

Also getting only a protocol droid and slightly reduced vendors seems like abit of a crock for master merchant. There really should be more, at least vendor +1
