I know that this has happened to amany folks in here, and has happened to me quite a few times - but isn't it possible to prevent the deletion of vendors if there is still either stock in the storeroom, offers to the vendor or stock still for sale?

I mean, you can't redeed a harvestor without getting a warning message telling you that the hopper is ha resources in it, yet folks regularly redeed vendors that still contain stock!!

To date I have been lucky and the vendor owners have reimbursed me for the cost of the goods that were inadvertantly destroyed, but I can see the time coming when I drop a few hundred thousand credits worth of goods onto a vendor, and the vendor owner removes the vendor without me knowing about it (or them being aware that there are offers on it - and no, most folks don't check the offers screen). Kind of makes me very wary of dropping anything on to anyones vendor.

So how about it? Make it so that a system message pops up saying "there is still stock on the vendor, please empty your vendor before redeeding" or some such.

It can't be that hard to do can it?

There already is a warning before you delete a vendor. I think people just ignore it. The problem with preventing me from deleting my vendor if you have stuff on it of course is that you could NEVER come pick it up then I have to wait for it to expire before I can continue with my business.

Of course, the difference between harvester warnings and vendor warnings is that the vendor warning will let you carry on and delete it. It's impossible to redeed a harvester with resources inside it.

The problem is that once I have rejected an offer, I nolonger see it, so I have no idea whether it is still on the vendor. Another problem is that if they make it so you cannot delete a vendor with an offer on it (rejected even) then merchants could be greifed by others; That is I could post 1 resource for 1 million credits, you refuse, but I leave it there, you cannot take down that vendor and reorganize.

The best for us it to make sure we have not received an offer in the last 7 days before removing the vendor.

One thing I find baffling is that people offer items and send no email announcing it... Even if I am online, there is a great chance that I will miss the brief text msg annoucing the offer. I sometimes get offers for things I don't want from people I ahve never met... What are these people thinking???

Please, send emails announcing you have offered items or don't be mad when they get ignored/deleted.

I rarely get offers. I have turned down almost eveyone so far. I would take a loss on the ones I have received so far.

When you sell an item, you get an e-mail.

When your item drops to stockroom, you get an e-mail.

When your harvester is at 50%, you get an e-mail.

These are useful - however...

When you place a harvester, you get an e-mail. Yeah, thanks.

When you withdraw a sale, you get an e-mail. Again, thanks for the info.

These are not useful. However, what we really need:

When someone offers an item on your vendor, you should get an e-mail. Otherwise the item could be sitting there for days, or weeks - unless I'm looking for it, I don't know it's there.

When your harvester stops working, for whatever reason (power or resource shift), you should get an e-mail. Otherwise the stupid things just sit there.

Proposal:

E-mails should be sent if someone offers something on your vendor.

E-mails should be sent out if your harvesters stop working for any reason. Those e-mails should include a waypoint.

You should have the option of restricting who offers on your vendor. For example, you could set the vendor to only accept offers from certain people, so that you don't get every noob in the galaxy trying to sell you 12 units of herbivore meat and a pair of wrinkled pants for 2000 credits. Or, anyone could offer items at your vendor, but you could "ban" certain people who abused the privilege.

Have a "return" function so that the person can return the item for what he or she paid - or conversely for a fraction of what he or she paid, a fraction that the merchant owner determines (i.e. 80% of cost). Nothing irritates me more than having someone try to"return" a dress for 8k that i sold to herlast week for 1500 credits!

Perhaps have a limit on the types of items that can be offered. For example - I love offers of steel from my resource dealers. Perhaps it would be possible to set a vendor to only accept offers of resources, hides, clothing, guns, whatever you like.

I agree. By the way a passed on to a CSR the suggestion that the do consolidated emails. Who knows...
